Maybe it'll be like one of those inner city bus accidents. You know the kind where there's a fender bender with 4 people aboard a bus but like 80 people claim they were there and hurt and need paid now.
I find it interesting that the liberals and their press had the main story as a congress woman was shot, then a judge was shot and the 9 year old kid being shot and killed wasn't mentioned till later. You got to strike while that political iron is hot. Of all them that were killed I feel the worst for the child who might have grown up as a decent person and not a politician.
Oh, God. The kid was a pot smoker. I'm a lot more worried about them coming for our nugs than I am about them coming for our guns.
Damn, Republicans are going on air and claiming the murder weren't politically motivated attacks. How the hell can they say that without evidence? How is that any better then people saying it is politically motivated without evidence? Two sides of the same coin in my mind.
Well, the democrats struck first, didn't they? You cannot let a false accusation like that go unanswered.
It's this principle that's been kinda common in American jurisprudence. You know...innocent until proven guilty. Until there's evidence that it was politically motivated, you weepy shitbags don't get to claim otherwise. Until then, it's just some nutjob who shot people because he was...well...a nutjob. Where were you this afternoon, Turdin?
Actually, the shooter struck first by murdering six people and shooting 12 others. The rest is just blather.
Earlier today, you were "willing to bet" that the shooter was a right winger. >EDIT< Y'know, you like to paint yourself as some sort of intellectual, above the "ignorance" and "simple-mindedness" of WF, but you're just as guilty of binary, knee-jerk thinking as those you accuse.
Jesus Christ on toast. Some nutjob shoots a congresswoman and instantly it's turned into political grist. Some'a you kids (*cough*Chest Rockwell*cough*) are just fucking scum. We don't do this shit in America. You don't like your local pols, you take care of it at the ballot box. This kid who did the shooting, he's not politically motivated as a rational person would understand the term. He's a full-on loony. End of line.
You're so full of shit. A few random people comment on a blog and you try to use it to justify elected Republicans going on cable and saying this shit? Go to hell, dunce.
He's politically motivated. He's an untreated incoherent paranoid schizophrenic lunatic who blames the voices in his head on the government and shot his Congresswoman. That's political, even if it's not readily categorizable in the usual political categories. That it's completely insane and that his politics are a result of mental illness is another issue entirely.
Random people like this? http://motherjones.com/mojo/2011/01/grijalva-giffords-shooting-tea-party-palin
Based on the evidence that there is out there so far, I would be willing to bet that it wasnt politically motivated. Just the work of a nut job like Hinkley.
Maybe some voices in his head told him to shoot a Congresswoman and Federal Judge, but do we call that "politically motivated"?
Hinkley was trying to impress a girl. Nothing political there. This guy is paranoid about government mind control, rambles incoherently about how everything the government does is unconstitutional, and is a particularly odd brand of goldbug who shot his Congresswoman because of how he believed his government to be misbehaving. That's political, however crazy it may be as well.
Well, when you go around making allusions to shooting politicians, don't be surprised when you get blamed for a politician getting shot.
I predict that high ranking Republicans will be the leading pacifists on Earth for the next few weeks.
Why is this surprising? In fact, its actually logical. Someone shoots a politician at a political meeting. Therefore, the logical conclusion is, someone shot her due to her politics. There's no way to divorce politics from this issue.
http://www.kgun9.com/Global/story.asp?S=13808882 18 shot, 6 dead according to Tuscon's local news. Edit: Since I posted last time they changed it to 19 shot.
When the guy is all over the road map and apparently is incapable of rational thought, it ain't politically motivated. You need rational thought for that to happen. I guess I look at political motivation being, well motivated, by a specific dislike for a politician and his or her party. What I am seeing so far is at best the actions of someone who was looking for any bogeyman. In his world bogeymen appear to be anyone affiliated with the government. If you had to label an irrational and mentally ill person like this guy I would say he was more akin to an anarchist. Even then I dont think this fits.
NPR's website now says six killed and "at least 12 wounded". http://www.npr.org/2011/01/08/132764367/congresswoman-shot-in-arizona
