That was a pretty moronic thing to say considering he's talking about the US as we know it, and frankly I see no "call to arms" as you're trying to insinuate.

The life and death he speaks of has fuckall to do with someone killing governmant oficials, it has to do with whether or not this country can survive the shit that's being brought to be borne by the American public through policies that have been enacted as of late.

He was upset with his community because he believes them to be illiterate. He went to an event that was organized by a member of the US House of Representatives and he shot her along with other people.

Go read Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets. It's about the Homicide squad in Baltimore in 1989-1990. They make the point, amongst others, that unlike TV most times they really don't know why Guy A kills Guy B. Just getting Guy A off the streets is about the best they can hope for.

The Why doesn't matter. We want to know Why because most of us can't wrap our brains around the idea that we can be killed outof the blue for no good reason by some whackjob, but we can be. Why is nothing.

It's been incredible that in 48hrs the Left as manage to take this terrible event to push everything they have wanted for a while.....were back to strict gun control,the fairness doctrine(silence talk radio),attempts to limit political speech deemed "hateful",limit public access to their elected officials(no asking difficult questions at townhalls)and of course the attempt to destroy Sara Palin and the Tea Party by linking them to this nutcase.

Whats so funny is they make no bones about what their doing hell some liberal wrote today that Obama needed to use this shooting to boost his Presidency like Clinton used the Oklahoma city bombing by blaming Rush Limbaugh for it.

And the MSM is still going apeshit over Palin campaign map from last year even though it's been pointed out that Palin is far from the first person to use that kind of image the Dems used it,the Daily Kos used it there was a video today showing a Dem candidate taking a rifle and literally shooting the Obamacare bill and another Dem video with a crosshair over a Repulican candidate that's a far cry from Palin's little map....but that doesn't matter to the MSM to them Palin put a hit on these Dems and someone carried it out..a year later.

The real question is will this tactic work for the Dems or is this another Wellstone moment where they go too far and the public rejects them or will the public believe this guy shot everyone up on the orders of Palin,Glenn Beck,RUSH,FOX News and the Tea party?

If you had ever worked in emergency medical care, you would know just how thoroughly ridiculous what you just posted really is. "A life and death situation" and "time running out" do not in any way imply violence. They imply urgency in dealing with a situation. These are medical images, not military ones.

I know you are desperate to forward your political agenda, but try at least to use remotely plausible smear attacks in doing so. This one puts you squarely in tinfoil hat territory. "Oh, teh noes! Someone talked about life and death and urgency! That means they are advocating violence!"

From my point of view, I don't think it was unreasonable WHEN THE SHOOTING FIRST HAPPENED for the public, the media and even politicians to wonder if the shooter was a right winger/conservative/whatever. The incident happened at an event being put on by a Democrat. I did the same thing myself when the story first crossed the wires (I was at work Saturday morning).

What's galling to me, though, are not only the people who, in the immediate aftermath of the incident, wished that it was a right winger/conservative/whatever, but also those who are still insisting that the shooter was somehow inspired or "programmed" by conservatives/Republicans to commit the act. This in spite of the mounting evidence the the guy was clearly a nutcase.

The people doing that (especially those in the government) are utterly worthless human beings.

And I am sick to fucking death of the Democrats denying that they have any role in the current "hateful, divisive political climate" and that it's the fault of those nasty, mean, hateful conservative Republicans.

I submit in evidence the fact that Limbaugh and Beck have yet to achieve actual secession or assassinations with their rhetoric, though I will grant that it is possible the Iraq war can be partially attributed to Limbaugh.

The important thing is we now know who truly bears the blame for this tragedy. Sheriff Dupnik and his department's irresponsible handling of a seriously mentally unbalanced young man. The blood of these victims is on Sheriff Dupnik's hands his office could and should have done something to protect the public from this lunatic and instead they covered for him. :smoking:

Actually, I think the attempts to make this out to be the sheriff's fault are as much of a stretch as his attempts and those of others to pin it on heated political discourse. I know everyone (left and right politically) wants someone to blame it on, and preferably someone on the other side, but the only one who is to blame is the shooter (and maybe his parents).

The "someone should have done something" mentality, whether that "someone" means irresponsible (conservative) politicians using martial metaphors or a (liberal) sheriff who didn't take action, is just a way of trying to make sure it won't ever happen again. But it will. A free society does not dare take the kind of preventive action that would keep all potential dangers from ever doing something like this. The hard fact of life is that it has happened before and it will happen again.
