Before we became civilized the captain of a ship at sea was fully within his rights to try and to execute pirates. I think we should go back to that.

I'm not an expert on Admiralty/International law, but as I understand it, it's not out of the question that that could be done. Tom Clancy had some characters in one of his novels stage a show trial and mock execution of some terrorist/pirates in one novel.

Basically, as I understand, pirates have almost zero rights under international law and anyone who gets their hands on them can do pretty much whatever they want to them. Pretty much the same story with mutineers.

If anyone who is an expert wants to confirm or debunk me on that, feel free.
