So it's the equivalent of saying "Stock up on canned goods; there's a hurricane coming." Gotcha. If there's a state of being that's beyond disingenuous, you've found it.
Look boys and girls she's got it!!! Well you do post on this board so I didn't really have to look hard. So tell us who was the first to go after children? John Adams? That old fart always did look shifty to me......
I didn't say they had only that is a possibility. Both Newsweek and Time have monkeyed about with cover photos.
Got it on the first try. The smear campaigns launched by Adams vs Jefferson and Jefferson vs Adams would make today's look tame by comparison (with the possible exception of the "John McCain has a black love child!" bullshit from the 2000 campaign). Mostly the two men went at each other and, to my knowledge, Jefferson never attacked Adams' family (he'd have had to contend with Abigail), but Adams had some vile things to say about Sally Hemings and her children. These smears were published in the newspapers at the time, and the publishers loved it because it bolstered circulation. Not much has changed since, except that libel is no longer settled with pistols at dawn. Now, make the obligatory crack about my age ("Wow, did you witness all this firsthand?), and we can move on.
So when conservatives on this board refer to Michelle Obama as Chewie, an ape and a salt monster, that's what, exactly? Just harmless fun? Also, who knew Sokay was a feminist? Is that how you get your "bitches?"
Or the countless posts yukking it up over unflattering pictures of Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi? Or -- in a more accurate comparison, since this is less about an unflattering picture and more about an unintentionally sexual-looking one -- the hilarity that ensued when Dick Gephardt was photographed in silhouette with the tail of his belt looking vaguely like a penis?
There's a big difference, in my opinion, between mocking someone's appearance and going after their children. The "lipstick on a pig" garbage about Palin was par for the course. The insidious allegations and unending intrusion on her children and her children's private lives was not....and it was a new level harassment. Even worse than what they dished out with the Bush girls. It just seems to get uglier with every election cycle and it's sickening regardless of who is doing it.
So we're not supposed to comment on politician's children, but they can send our children half way round the world to get blown up in some third world shithole? Don't seem fair.
A child old enough to enlist is not a child. Now, if you'd like to try justifying attacks on underage children, you can start with Post #43.
Nobody that I know of has "gone after" Mrs. Bachmann's children. The only chatter I've heard is about her claim of "raising" 23 foster children, when some of them were only in her care for a short time. I do believe the attacks on Mrs. Palin's children were over-the-top and hyperbolic. But she did use her older children as props in the 2008 campaign, and in particular, Bristol Palin has made herself fair game with her constant media exposure. Presidents Bush, Clinton and Obama have worked hard to keep a separation between their political careers and their children's daily lives. Perhaps the newest crop of candidates should do the same.
Meh. Sounds to me like the kid got the same level of scrutiny as Joe the Plumber. If I was gonna be mad at anyone, it'd be the Democrats that thought it was cool to use the kid as a political prop. Don't throw anyone into the arena if you're gonna cry when people don't go easy on them.
Is this REALLY the moron you want sitting in the Oval Office? Shit, just draft Paris Hilton and be done with it. We're so fucked at this point that Ms. Hilton can't hurt anything. Bachmann looks like she's never given head before in her life. At least Paris could swallow that whole thing in one gulp.
No, no it's not. There are several references to oral sex in scripture, the most obvious being this: Scripture in no way places limits upon sex within the institution and oneness of marriage.
Why are some people making a political thing out of this? Pictures of women trying to put oversized weiners in their mouths are always hysterically funny. Period.
It's true, Canadian portion sizes are generally smaller than in America. I'm told our large fries at McDonalds is a medium in America.
