Sonic is alright if you don't mind waiting 45 minutes in your car for a fucking cheeseburger. :scorp:

Had occasion to eat some Wendy's over the weekend. We were doing some yard work for an injured friend, so we got some free burgers. For the price, they were just fucking delightful.

 You've got a crap-ass Sonic in your town, then. The one I go to, it's about 5 minutes, 10 if they're packed, and that's if you order something bizarre like the Super Sonic Jalapeno cheeseburger.

Same here. I've waited longer in the drive-through at Whataburger and Chic-Fil-A than at any Sonic.

There are several Sonics in Omaha, and the experience is about the same at all of them. They take for-fucking-ever to fill the simplest order. I'm talking a box of popcorn chicken and a couple of sodas, here.

Wendy's is okay. I usually go to them when I'm hungry and nothing else is near, or open. They tend to be open later than other fast food places.

    I love their frosty's.

The only thing I ever used to get from Wendy's was the Spicy Chicken Sandwich (I never liked their burgers).

Since Chic-Fil-A introduced their Spicy Chicken Sandwich, I haven't gone back to Dave's place. It's way better than the Wendy's sandwich.

What I like best about Chic-Fil-A is the service.

The burger place near us is awesome. It's super cheap and run by a cranky old Greek guy who can't hear anything. They do burgers, chicken strips, pastrami, tacos and a breakfast burrito that's incredible.

OMG! Whataburger. That takes me back. And they way you guys say it down there ... Took me two years to figure out when someone says "Waterburger", they're talking about "Whataburger".

I didn't care for Whataburger. I had been told their burgers were similar to In-N-Outs. They weren't. :(

For years, the one in College Station was the only location they had in Texas. Fortunately, they've expanded.

There's one just minutes from my house.

I'm going to open a burger joint to compete for the Hooters clientele. I'll call it Furburgers, and staff it with French women.

It comes down to the owners not cracking on their staff.

I've been at various joints where dead people are faster but then you get new management or owners and they are throwing the food in your lap before you even can finish putting the change back into your wallet.

No love for Culver's? If I move away from the Midwest, I think they'll be something I might actually miss.

I actually remember this commercial (about 1980 or so) when Jack-in-the-Box got rid of their stupid clown mascot (later resurrected)...

HEY.....Hershel Savage and Taija Ray - might be worth checking out!

Anyway, as for Sonic - there is one I pass everyday right down the road. Food is better than McDonalds/BK that's for sure.

They're okay. :) They're also beginning to filter down into the St. Louis region.

However, Bob Evans > Culvers or Perkin's IME. (And now we're getting into sit-down restaurant territory . . .)

Mom really likes their cherry limeade. Unfortunately, the one near us closed a month or so ago.

Culvers isn't really a sit down restaurant - not really. Back in the day, when I worked at McDonald's, if an order took exceptionally long, the customer could go sit down and a crew person would bring it out.

Culvers just extended that courtesy to everyone. It's still a fast-food restaurant and can't be compared to either Bob Evans or Cracker Barrel.

Perkins would be more closely related to a Dennys.
