Felt NOTHING in my building, but it's only 1 story. My wife felt a little bit in her office, but she just thought somebody bumped the filing cabinet she was working in. My neighbor was taking a test at nursing school, but she thought the student behind her nervously kicked her chair. So, barely noticeable in my part of north Jersey.
AND THUS WAS IT PROVEN Shakeweights had to be good for something, after all Turns out it was starting earthquakes.

Glad I got out of NYC before they shut down JFK. Jeez, if California shut down our airports every time we had an earthquake we'd get nothing done.
Just felt an aftershock a bit ago. I How in the hell do people in California deal with this? At least with a hurricane you get plenty of notice. Guess I won't be getting much sleep tonight
Earthquakes tend to be mild and usually end before you're sure they're even happening. If the "big one" ever hits there's nothing you could do anyway. Kinda tough to run outside, stand in a doorway, hide under a desk, or duck under a table when you can't move in any meaningful way, let alone walk. And even if you could it's doubtful any desk, table, or doorway would make a difference.
You just suck it up and get on with your life. Unlike hurricanes or tornadoes, earthquakes aren't seasonal and you can usually get by about 20 years in between big shakers. If it gently rolls or bangs a little, you keep doing whatever you were doing and ignore it. If shit starts flying off the shelves and you can't stand up, get under a table and enjoy the ride cause there ain't a damn thing you can do about it until it's over.
So basically with a earthquake you sit around hoping that you don't get swacked, where as with a hurricane or tornado you have a chance to choose if you will or wont get swacked.
Ha! Yeah there's probably more than a few folks sitting around fearing a random swacking. Though I'd say most folks don't think about earthquakes at all let alone some sort of seismic swacking.
Fuck that. I like to have a little more control over my destiny. I'll keep the hurricanes and tornadoes.
See, now, tornadoes scare the bejeebers out of me, and you couldn't pay me to live anywhere they're a fact of life.
