The Cassini probe has delivered perhaps its most amazing image yet of the ringed planet. Full story here. Also, check out the link to the animated fly-by sequence in the story. Nothing CGIed, it's all composited from actual Saturn images returned from Cassini. We got our money's worth with that one, we did.
Here's a big version: http://eoimages.gsfc.nasa.gov/images/imagerecords/7000/7314/saturn_cas_lrg.jpg The thing that really makes this wonderful image poetically complete is one of the "stars" visible in the background. On the left hand side, slightly above the centre line, just inside the second ring (second in from the outside), is a bright point of light - it is in fact Earth.
Space: The Final Frontier These are the voyages of the probe Cassini. It's mission: To explore the Sol System and give us a new understanding of our planetary neighborhood.
