Been around for a while now... I'm not entirely convinced by it, especially if they intend to base an OS around the design. Too many icon's without text (so the function is hidden) though you can take a good guess at what they mean. Oh well, not good enough from Google. Also, a pull down menu for the sign out function, so now two clicks instead of one. What are your thoughts people?
I use Gmail for school and business purposes now and I can't stand it. I spend hours looking for buttons. Not really hours, but I waste a lot of time looking for things. A team project I am on is using GoogleDocs and on one hand it is great-on the other hand it is really annoying. People don't know how to use forums and for some reason they want to communicate via email all the time. Having 1 email with 15-20 responses was difficult to get used to. Is that what you wanted to know? : P ( I could go on)
It slows down every machine I use it on to a crawl. You can practically see the lights in the house dim as the page loads.
I like it, as well as the updates to Reader. I know there were a lot of gripes about Reader features being moved to Google+, but I like not having all that extra stuff on the screen that I never use.
I prefer the mobile version. The PC version is cluttered and I get confused replying to conversations involving multiple people.
Yeah Im not too happy with it either. As for the mobile version, that is even worse. Oh sure I can read and delete and respond, but filing emails in specific folders is a nightmare. For the Android platform Google really needs to crib a lot from the K9 email client so far as layout and useability.
I've only been using Gmail for two months. I take it what I've been using all along is the "new" Gmail.
Yeah it probably is. Can't remember when they put the new features in, but the older version was probably better IMHO.
I use the new GMail, and I'm undecided. I've used GMail for so long, I've become accustomed to their changes, but this time they've started to really overcomplicate the plumbing and it gets a bit frustrating.
I dig it. I've had Gmail since it was "invite only" beta, and I haven't had any real problems with it.
Gmail is my primary personal/private e-mail account. But, I haven't opened the page in...years? It comes right to my iPhone and Outlook.
I'm using the "old" version as long as I can. I suspect eventually I will get used to it, but for the time being, I CANNOT for the life of me figure out that the "send" button is at the top, and not near the end of my email.
