http://www.comingsoon.net/news/tvnews.php?id=71043 I will be there to watch the day it premiers. The only thing I don't think works very well is the "Blood and Chrome" title. Why not call it The Cylon War? I also hope we will at least to get to see some of the old "By Your Command" Cylons from the original series. It seems like it will at least be better than Caprica.
Here's an article dated March 1, 2012, on a site called Airlock Alpha. Blood and Chrome The "Blood and Chrome" pilot is very close to completion, and will be released to the public in some fashion. SyFy has not committed to turning this into a series. This story takes place after Caprica, but before Battlestar Galactica. The role of Adama is played by Luke Pasqualino.
They have a trailer! [YT="BSG: Blood & Chrome"]A0ixAkA5bng[/YT] HOLY FRAK!!! That looks fucking awesome!!! According to this piece over at Ain't It Cool News, the show is supposed to be more war and action oriented (thank the Gods!), and will utilize more virtual sets. I'm stoked!
The trailer looks good (better than Caprica). But is that the same shitty cover of "Immigrant Song" that I heard over the opening credits of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo? [Homer S]Robert Plant & Jimmy Page must be spinning in their graves[/HS]
SyFy is like a union shop, you can't have anything truly awesome on there, because "it makes the others look bad". Can't have the whole channel aspiring to a standard, it's gotta be schlock.
Well, if the trailer is an accurate portrayal of the series content, Dayton ought to be please. Lotsa space battles...Pew! Pew!!
SyFy executives are a bunch of douchebags. I had a recent run-in with them, and they are definitely NBC's special needs children.
Which will lead to a reboot. This is Syfy after all. They aren't bright. They would be like "didn't we already have a this show" and Ron Moore would be "hell no. What have you guys been smoking" and they would be "okay yeah what were we thinking" Ron Moore has job security.
I don't think Ron Moore is involved with this project. And last I heard, Bryan Singer was still trying to move on to his own reboot of BSG for the big screen.
Do you think the SyFy fools know that? Ron Moore could be the Milton Waddams with his Red Swingline Stapler at SyFy.
I hope this is good. I also hope that SyFy's executives DIAF and the channel gets back on track. I don't think I've watched anything on SyFy since NuBSG ended and Doctor Who moved to BBC America.
"has been blocked on copyright blah blah blah" Exec 1: Dude, some pirate has our trailer up on youtube! Exec 2: WTF? If people watch our trailer and like it they might watch the damn series!!! Exec 1: I know right? We have to put a stop to this shit! Exec 2: I'll fire off a cease and desist right now! that will show those fuckers not to promote our show! /scene
I had heard it was a leaked trailer. In that case, I guess they do have a point - if they were looking to release it at a certain time and people are already viewing it, they might not like that. I'm in Canada, and it's now blocked for me too.
You raise a valid point. Of course, the SyFy Channel seems to take some strange pleasure in shooting itself in the foot, so Nova has a valid point too.
Not so fast! http://www.avclub.com/articles/syfy-decides-it-doesnt-want-battlestar-galactica-b,71308/ This is why we can't have nice things.
Fucksticks! Well, if the web episodes are in HD, I couldn't care less if it makes it to TV. Outside of maybe the 11 o'clock news, I barely watch TV anymore.
SyFy blows. They remind me of HBO. HBO has fantastic original mini series', but air crappy movies. SyFy makes terrible movies, but has great original series. I guess they want to continue appealing to the ghost whisperer/pro wrestling crowd.
If this never officially airs, but the pilot ends up pirated all over the interwebs, what do you want to bet the assholes will still do the whole victim act about lost sales?
