Gawd, that episode was terrible. Not that I loved Troi, but it would have been nice if she wasn't always either the victim, or falling in love with an ambassador, or the victim of the ambassador she fell in love with.

Related note: Ted would have loved this thread. :(

I hate the episode where the Enterprise computer becomes sentient, with that holodeck train shit.

I remember when before Voyager premièred, they kept making a big deal in the press about how the ship had neural gel packs instead of isolinear chips. "The ship is technically alive... HINT HINT FUCKING HINT" they went, over and over. And then nothing ever came of that, either.

    Well, I counted the Doctor.

I mean, if the Doctor counts as the ship's AI lifeform, and you chart his character arc, he even does become "the emergency command hologram".

    So...yeah.

Nah, Holograms were already capable of sentience as far back as Moriarty.

Then, the bio-neural gel-packs were bullshit.
    But...that's old news, really.

I remember being particularly pissed about an episode where some vague danger looms, and to save everybody Picard comes back from some point in the very near future, says & does NOTHING and drives everybody batshit with his doing NOTHING (particularly Picard-present.) It was as if one of the writers was attempting a tribute to Bartleby the Scrivener...oh, and there was some light at the end of some tunnel or some shit like that. I forget the title, but it should've been "Deus ex Clusterfuck".

iirc it was supposed to be a precursor to a Q episode, and hence make sense, however...

Interesting use of a variation on Mozart's Theme and Variation there.
