The whole burning Quran shit mystifies me considering in Iraq it's a thing to have a burned Quran (more like charred on the sides) in a net bag hanging in a place of honor on the wall.

They are so common, and we are so religiously sensitive, that the bad guys started hiding shit in them b/c they knew we wouldn't fuck with them, so it ended up coming down that we were to have either the family pull it down and go through it while we watched or have an Iraqi soldier or policeman do it (as long as it's only touched by a Muslim it's okay).

Okay, so let's generalise about "they", meaning all Muslims. What do our keyboard maniacs propose to do with Muslims living in the west? Round them up and put them in camps, given this logic, I presume. And if not, why not?

Fit them all with those electronic dog collars, the ones that zap 'em for barking? Everytime a muslim cleric declares jihad, or a father kills his daughter for shaming the family, etc. -- just press a button and all muslims get tazed into a stupor. I like how someone always feels the need to argue over the semantics of who exactly "they" are in a situation like this, and usually that same someone has no problem, say, painting all Republicans or all Christians, or some other acceptable target in their view with the same broad brush.

Actually, the "they" in Anc's quote is the fucking book. They are so common is discussing the practice of hanging charred Koran's from nets in households.

Oh I misunderstood what Anc was saying. But many Muslims do indeed hold the value of The Koran higher than anything, even life itself. Their logic is there are plenty of humans, but only one Koran, which is the actual word of Allah himself of course.
