One of the silliest notions the Occupiers ever had was that Obama was their president.

    This is no surprise.

Historically, the absolute richest Americans have voted for liberals (so called "limo liberals").

Because they are rich enough to have their wealth basically untouchable by the U.S. federal govt. no matter who is in charge.

Historically, it has been the people who average from 100,000-500,000 a year in income who have been overwhelmingly Republican.

That is, those who have worked hard and succeeded, have a good thing going, but know that they can still get screwed over badly by the govt.

It does seem to go against the narrative that all Obama voters are just looking for more welfare doesn't it.

You're doing it wrong. Your argument should be that this proves that of people who are successful, the only ones who can afford an Obama presidency are those who are so insanely rich that you could tax away 80 percent of their income and they wouldn't even notice.

    See -- like this.

They've got theirs. And they think the rest of us are incapable of getting our own. Because there's no way we can succeed like they did. We need to be taken care of by government. So they support politicians who are hell bent on preventing the pie from growing.

Well, there is an "uber rich mindset" for people who can contribute 100 million dollars to their favorite pet charity without batting an eye.

I think they figure if they can part with 100 million, then why not ask John Boy, the assistant manager at Wal-Mart to part with "just 10,000 dollars" of his own.

Guess who loves the Obama the most?

The poor definitely loves Obama. ;)

I live in one of those counties and I voted Obama.

I'm not one of the 1%, but I suppose I make enough.

I'm guessing my taxes will go up as well.

I do find it amusing that you think everyone in these counties, or even enough to matter fits the 1% label. There are plenty of upper middle class people that support Obama, support tax increases, and want the government to retool itself and the infrastructure it provides.

And we also believe in science and logic and reason; we don't believe women can be sorta-raped or what our pastors say about Jesus is the answer to everything. We used to vote Republican from time to time, but we can't fathom the party anymore. We recognize that Obama is about as right as you can get and still call yourself a Democrat. We're educated and we've seeing how much the Republicans have distanced themselves from us since Reagan.

Its their fault, not ours. We'd certainly like to pay less taxes, have the Fed stop meddling with the individual, and let the States figure out what works, but we know that the Republicans can be fiscally worse than Democrats, want to jump right in meddling, and seem to believe "states rights" means "succession".

We're sick of it. Give us a better alternative or become irrelevant where it matters.

Thanks to quantitative easing these people have received a massive transfer of wealth. Pays to vote Obama imo.

Wrong font. As Faisent pointed out, these counties aren't full of 1%ers. Average median income in most of them is around 100-120K. Incredibly wealthy compared to Skin, but nowhere near the 1% line.

Actually, in Marin, everyone is well aware of the wealth and liberal ideology. We actually have/had MANY occupiers in our tiny county so, at least here, I think they are well aware of this situation.

The Occupiers who were in a large part protesting against corporate bailouts and corporate welfare...that was pushed by Obama?

Many on the left may prefer Obama to the alternative, doesn't mean they thnk he's perfect.

Are there still occupy losers around that would care about this? Are they still banging their shitty drums? The cops beat them down in my city a long time ago, it was glorious.

I can see why this upsets Skin though. He really fits the mold of an occupier. Starving "artist" without any real job or job aspirations. Substance abuse problem that he proudly wears on his sleeve. No one will fuck him. Camping out in a park would actually be a step up from his slanty shanty of an apartment. Entitled chap who doesn't care about paying back debts that he owes. The smell coming off him must be awful. Spends way too much time on the internet whining like a bitch. He shits in public.

    Yup, definite occupier.
