I'ma just leave this right here. So, garamet, what's your take on this? Should the guy be fired, a la Don Imus?
I haven't read the link, but there's something ironic about a blanket slam against 300 million people, based solely on their national origin, in a thread with "tolerance" in the title...
If the OP was made by a Frenchman, I would have said the same about France. When the left blames the right and the right blames the left there's only one thing you can be sure about. The entire system is wrong
IOW, if you don't like what someone posts, it shows that "the entire system" of his or her country is wrong, and thus by extension that all his or her compatriots are "the problem"? Do you even realize how thoroughly bigoted that is?
Never heard of this guy, but the statement seems no different from the kind of stuff plenty of conservatives have to say. If he really meant it, the statement is despicable. If he was speaking metaphorically, it's still fairly questionable. As for Dan, he really wouldn't sound like quite as big an idiot if he aimed his commennts at all of humanity, or at some concept embraced by humanity (like talk radio), instead of pointing the finger at all people with only a superficial resemblance. Basically, Dan has engaged in the very behavior he decries so much. Were I Dan, I'd make some comment about the failures of the English system.
Our system is British, not English And its shite, much better than America, but still utter shite. We have things like TV news and some newspapers that are actually worth watching, something you dont seem to have across the pond. Im not even going to mention the kind of crap you have on the radio.
You mean the one I just described as shite? Oh and I wasnt talking about countries, I was talking about politics, media and partizan citizens.....
How quickly the Left forgets that it's the so-called "Tea Baggers" that have all the guns. :soldiershoot:
Not exactly Rush Limbaugh. Sounds pretty clearly metaphorical--he's not exactly an Angel-of-the-Lord type. Also, the only audio clips provided are suspiciously clipped, starting right in the middle of a sentence and thought. Given the usual wingnut tactics and pants-pissing over deceptively edited materials, it's highly likely that Malloy was leading in by saying saying something along the lines of that this is what liberal talk radio would sound like if it sounded like conservative talk radio, or something else that puts the statement in a similar context.
Oh I've heard of him. He was on Atlanta radio for years (WSB) in the evening until his untreated liberal psychosis kicked in hard one day and he flipped out on-air. They always crack right about the time reality catches up with them.
Regardless, a comment/controversy like this could likely triple his listening audience......possibly edging listenership into double digits!
Wasn't it gul you were having the "tolerance" debate with? I realize both our usernames begin with a lower case "g," which might have contributed to your confusion.
