Yep, the guy who never went on a date until meeting the woman he would one day marry has now been married for fully one third of his life. It still boggles my mind that my life changed so much. It is amazing even more just how quickly the last 15 years have passed.
I'm on about my 25th year myself...but why bother counting when you're doing a life sentence anyway? I take my wife everywhere, but she keeps finding her way back. I asked my wife, "Where do you want to go for our anniversary?" She said, "Somewhere I have never been!" I told her, "How about the kitchen?" Seriously though, I've been in love with the same woman for 25 years. If my wife every finds out, she'll kill me! My wife will buy anything marked down. Last year she bought an escalator.
Those are some of the worst jokes ever. *writes them down* Oh, and congratulations to Dayton, I guess. Although I'm remembering the Jeff Dunham line: "You know when you said 'til death do us part'? Later, you'll realize that you were actually setting a goal!"
We decided to just go out to eat at a restaurant of her choice and exchange cards. We decided to save our money and go out on a two or three day "date" for swimming (indoor pool) and shopping when Spring Break gets here (three weeks). We had wanted to go to Dallas but the rapidly rising costs of gasoline means we would spend more on refilling our vehicle several times than we spent on anything else. So we're doing something closer.
