Good for her. There's a body; something's got to be done with it. And she lived her principles and her faith better than a lot of people do.
I'm struggling to understand why this is such a big deal. I could care less what happens to my body after I die. Bury it, burn it, dissect it, feed it to vultures... I certainly won't care... Just shove this guy into the ground somewhere and be done with it. Stop giving him the attention and infamy he was looking for...
^ Yeah, I don't think it should be such a big deal. Aren't funerals more for the living than the dead, anyway?
My only complaint is that she "drama whoring" it by saying "look at what I did." Other than that, no big deal. Still would have preferred that they dump the body at sea, but this will do.
Not really. The only burial he could find was hosted by the Infidels. No matter what they believe, in the end they had to beg the infidels.
Good on this woman for this. This has all been much ado about nothin'. He's dead, Jim. He won't get no deader by leaving him to rot, and he ain't gunna rise form the dead to kill more people. Bury 'im and move on.
Eh. They should have tossed his body in the dump or out to sea, but the man is dead, so who really cares where it's buried? It's not like he can bomb visitors to the cemetery.
On a personal level, to me it's just a lifeless carcass so I don't see the fuss. That said, I do think the local Muslim community should've been consulted. They already have enough of a hard time from Christian America for the notion that all Muslims are evil. I can understand why they might have an issue having a terrorist murdered buried next to their family members. It's akin to burying a mafia boss next to a law abiding Italian. Guilty by association.
If you wanna look at it from the Christian POV then I would look at Matthew 6:1-6 RSV which pretty much says to not make a big production out of doing the right thing.
Nevertheless, because she is a Christian, she must be found to be in the wrong. Any example of a Christian doing something right has to be discredited. For other religions, it is not acceptable to paint them all as bad, but with Christians, that is an absolute necessity. Otherwise, they will set up a theocracy and take away everyone's rights. It's logic!
The person who brought up the point was Frontline, who I can't recall ever having been accused of that kind of thinking, so does this really make sense?
This whole "If you disagree with me you're a cry-baby" blurf is playground banter. A lazy means of disengaging from discussion. You started this thread, don't walk away now.
Who's walking away? I'm just pointing out that you seem to be reaching for an excuse to be offended. If you like, I could find some political reference to throw in so you can play the "tut tut, don't be partisan" game as well. (As long as the reference was pointed in the right direction to get that response, of course.)
It has nothing to do with you disagreeing with me. It has to do with your apparent desperation for an excuse to be offended.
