With a population of almost 30 million, bringing in less than 2 rolls per capita probably isn't going to have THAT calming an effect.
Maybe would could send a humanitarian donation of old Sears catalogs to Venezuela? Does Sears even print those any more? If they've gone online-only, that could prove problematic.
Really. The people will quickly saturate that product and they will be right here again in a couple days.
Way to go, revolution. You're hard as fuck. There's nothing worse than being in a shithole with no poo tickets.
No sir. Venezuela can not spare any toilet paper rolls to those like you who are shitting everywhere playing the whole "it's not a scandal that people died and the President lied!" card.......
Having been to some commie countries back in the day, I can say I'm not surprised. Toilet paper is something that system never got right.
So you're claiming the misinformation promulgated after the fact is what killed the four Americans in Benghazi. Okay, McFly.
Well duh. How else do you think he planted that fake birth certificate in Hawaii? And that birth announcement in the papers?
This incident proves that socialism has failed! Of course, good news from an socialist European country proves nothing, because.... of some reason.
So there was never any good news out of Venezuela? Socialism never implodes immediately. There's always plenty for a Socialist state to plunder before it runs bone-dry and people figure out that it was a scam. Venezuela is now figuring out that it was a scam. France will take longer, but it'll get there. They all get there eventually. Remember the one that actually stood toe to toe with us in the nuclear squared circle for a while? How are they doing now? I'll bet you've tried "multi-level marketing" too, you silly fuck. "I know all the other ones were scams, but this one's different!"
Oh, look. A poor country has a shortage of something. That never happens when they apply cut-throat capitalism.
It's mainly an indictment of central planning, something even china's central committee has realized doesn't work, and is fundamentally flawed in every way but theoretically. Chavez either figured he cracked some imaginary code, or his populistic con would at least outlive him, and fuck the actual people longer term (turns out he was right). There were plenty of toilet paper-like shortages reported when there were more people under the yoke of left and the commies. And Chavez had the huge subsidy of oil wealth to sustain his con, surprising that it had to die during our life times, it's actually remarkable evidence how flawed marxism and all that shit is, there should have been enough black gold production to fund the con unless one discovers themselves incapable enough to reduce black gold production (by chasing away the brains and money extracting the gold). Venezuela's disregard for property rights and ignorance of market forces make it a case of socialism writ large, while Euroland is to a large extent socialism lite (heavier than the US, sure, but at least allowing markets to set supply and demand of large sectors of the economy). If the free marketers are right, Venezuela will see the collapse of status quo (and encounter things like TP shortages) much faster than Euroland states because they take more from the book of socialist dogma and optimism (naïveté?) about human nature. Europe's decline (obvious when viewed in terms of schlerotic growth rates of 2%) is a much longer term process because only 30% of their economy is public, and their costly safety net has been buoyed much like a ponzi by making next generation pay for those who came before. It's gonna fall apart in the next couple decades unless they start multiplying like indonesians or something.
I'm sure the people who can barely get food to eat or TP to wipe their asses with would be thrilled that idiots like you are championing the sorry-ass state of affairs you don't have to live with.
