I don't see an issue with the vest at all or carrying a gun as long as he does not have a criminal record that prohibits him from doing so.

What I do question is his choice of guns. A .25 cal.? All those are good for is pissing off the person you shoot.

I've seen a couple of ER patients over the years who were shot at point blank range with a .25. One of them was shot center mass and the bullet lodged next to the heart without even penetrating the pericardium.

The original Black Panthers were no angels either and a number of murders were attributed to them, including police officers. They were socialist revolutionaries but did, at least, condemn black nationalism as black racism, so I'll give them credit for that one.

The "only white people can be racist" schtick is a classic example of terminology confusion combined with deliberate misunderstanding.

Most people consider "racism" and "prejudice based on race" to be the same thing. But it should surprise no one that people who study a subject sometimes come up with their own definitions for terms -- academic definitions that apply greater degrees of meaning to terms within their discipline and that serve for better communication between people who study the same thing.

Thus, sociologists have traditionally defined "racism" slightly differently. To make for easier communication of concepts, racial prejudice is racial prejudice, while racism is racial prejudice combined with privilege and power, and thus the ability to do harm.

It should similarly surprise no one that if Group A has substantially more power than Group B, prejudice by A against B has a lot more ability to do harm than prejudice by B against A. Hence the statement about racism that has been mocked so many times ... and deliberately misunderstood by the brave defenders of the Endangered White Male.
