Uncle Albert clearly hasn't encountered many really rich people. When I worked at a casino most of the richest regulars were the ones you wouldn't pick out on the street, and a couple were the shabbiest.
Rich, poor, black, white; no one should be discriminated against solely because of the color of their skin, or the contents of their pocketbook.
This thread is labeled "Oprah Winfrey's towering ego." But when I look at her photo, all of think of is the towering stack of junk food she must consume daily.
So growing up my little town was about 45 minutes from both Mobile and Pensacola. My parents would always go to P'cola b/c they really didn't like the Mobile culture. Very much 'Old South' in terms of class/society ect. Snobbiest people you'll ever meet. Anyway my Aunt and Uncle have done well in life. They were going to be going down to Mobile for something. My Mommy Juliette asked them to return a lamp to this real hoity toity furniture shop down there that she liked. They had spent the day working out on their farm (and by farm I'm talking about 3k acres with a Lodge and Cabins on a lake that they rented out) so were wearing jeans, button downs, and boots. They show up at the store and decide that since they were building a new beach house they would go in and at least talk to the people, see what they had, get a rough estimate for furnishing it etc. Well after a few minutes the salesperson told them that this wasn't their shop and that they should go to Rhodes. My Aunt told her that she had a lamp in the car to return for my grandmother and went and brought it back and dropped it off. When the owner found out (friend of my grandmother) she went ape shit. Sent the salesperson out to bumfuck where we lived to apologize to my Aunt and Uncle in person.
I say if you've got the money, and it's not going to cause harm to anyone else, buy whatever you like. If I were rich, you'd sure as shit see me buying all kinds of things. Yeah, I'd donate massive amounts of money to hospitals, libraries, schools, and such, but I'd also buy myself a Batmobile (a 1989 movie Batmobile).
You know, only the trashy rich who need to throw their money around to impress others buy things like that. This is what Lindsay Lohan does when she's on a drug-fueled manic high. The smart rich buy a $1000 bag (still ludicrously overpriced, but better than 38k), and that's why they stay rich longer. Somebody tell me what the actual materials the 38k bag is made of are worth. $20 at most?
That is not the point. It doesn't matter WHAT the customer looks like. If they say they want to see something, they get to see it. That is what hospitality businesses teach. A better way might have been to comment ever so casually that the bag was a top fashion bag and the price might not be what she would want to pay for the bag. That way she is not assuming the person can't afford it. As for what a person looks like, I knew a kid who looked like a hobo but was a top gemologist. And could afford the gems.
What doesnt surprise me much is that Black People, no matter how succesful they can get, still has a chip on their shoulder, for the entirity of their lives, just because of the history of slavery a hundred years ago. What these illiterate fucktards dont realize is that there are people who have had worse luck in racism but doesn't play the race card every chance they get.
Agreed. Poor service isn't proof of rampant racism in Europe. Now the spin is her weight was the real issue.
Poor Oprah. I bet she cried all the way home on her private jet, then got home and found some sycophant media outlet that she could cry "racism" to.
I actually wonder whether Forbin has heard of her. She has nothing to do with Star Trek, guns, or modelling. Where's the hook? Never heard the term, "women of size," before.
More than likely, a camera. Has Zombie chimed in yet that the clerk who didn't know her is ignorant and clueless?
You mean the "job creators," right? And you're correct. Just watch what happens when you use the term "estate tax" in this forum.
I totally disagree. The handbag designer who is duping rich women out of $38,000 per bag is my hero. I wish I could come up with a similar way to make a lot of money.
"Duping?" The bags are sold because there are people out there foolish enough to throw down that much money for something that insignificant. Is the shop owner forcing people to buy 38k bags at gunpoint? Capitalism.
I always have to wonder how much of your posting is genuine and how much is fake persona, posts like this tilt me towards fake.
