So one of my favorite Mexican soup dishes is Pozole, it's a pork soup and pretty damn good. My mom's is awesome, but she says her own mother who was a full blooded Aztec Indian never made it, didn't like it, never tried it, and she refused to make it or eat it as well. And there's a reason behind that, the Aztecs considered Maize a sacred plant and they believed that their gods made humans from cornmeal dough. So when the sacrificed someone they would chop them up and make soup with hominy made from the Maize. Well then the Spaniards came along with their holier than thou attitude and they frowned upon eating people. So they changed from people to pigs (long pork, which is people meat). So basically it was like Christmas/Thanksgiving Dinner to the Aztecs. And apparently pork tastes enough like people so if you have Pozole you will know what people soup tastes like. El Pozole, es echo de personas!!
Nice piece of info but why bullshit it up with this jazz about ya grandma being a full blooded Aztec Indian?
