    As in, ortho'graphically sound?

But really, so do I. Saying things is still doing stuff, just doing it with words; you can show a lot by having characters talk. The problem begins when they say stuff that more properly belongs in an elementary school kid's summary of the episode. The worst recent offender in this regard is SHIELD: Here, characters will turn to whoever is in the room and inform them, without any nuance or discretion, about what we should be seeing them feel right now if they were played by professional actors.

You can break every writing rule if you're clever about it, and obliterate them if you make it funny.

The Magnificent Ferengi, Little Green Men, and Business as Usual were tremendous Ferengi episodes. The Emperor's new cloak, Body Parts and Bar Association were very good. Prophet Motive, The House of Quark and its follow up ep (forgot its name) were entertaining too. The remaining Ferengi eps vary between being average to piss poor.

I can't enjoy an episode with a staggeringly huge continuity violation. Not one for the Trek franchise as a whole . But one for Deep Space Nine just a couple of seasons earlier.

Just a couple of seasons earlier, the second mirror universe episode clearly showed Klingon and Cardassian ships uncloaking.

There is nothing to "look for" in regards to watching DS9, you only have to view and enjoy it. It's hands down the best of all the Trek series (including TOS) with actual character development and excellent overall storytelling. It's not perfect, there is still wooden acting by Brooks, sometimes painful dialogue, and the occasional stinker episode, but it came the closest of any other Trek series to true greatness.

True, but if you're looking for continuity then you shouldn't be watching Star Trek. :)

I really must disagree. Having followed Voyager fairly closely back in the day, my viewing habits after that changed significantly with downloading and watching TV on demand from 2001 or so. As a result, much of DS9 was incomprehensible to me at the time when viewed out of order. Which characters get on right now? Is the Bajoran government good or evil right now? Are the Cardassians plotting or actively at war at the moment? Couldn't follow.

Now watching things from the beginning I can appreciate it properly. :)

The Bajoran govt. was never really evil.

    Just seemed incompetent.

Yeah, I hated when DS9 pandered to the TNG viewers with dumb gimmick episodes like that. I know Majel Barrett was Rod's wife, but there was no need for THREE Luxanna Troi shows.
