Looking back at the list in the OP, in the past 3 days I have seen posts by Ramen, enlisted person and baba.

Are these the real people posting, or is Anc running a scam? Invading their accounts and posing as them to make it appear like a few folks are returning, however briefly? Only time will tell.

IMHO, baba's threads are far too coherent to be genuine. :bailey:

A lot of people are just occasionally stopping by now. They aren't gone completely, just mostly.

Ramen has been just an occasional poster for well over a year. Enlisted Person went back to school and has been too busy most of the time. As for Baba, I suspect it just took him a while to figure out how to log on to the new server.

Scorp also went back to school for expanding his knowledge base for his business. But it's more fun for people to make shit up than the boring reality.

So which is it - the Righties left because they're busy, or the Righties left because this place is boring?

Combination of both for most people, and that's not just righties. Can't get a lot of new blood when younger folks prefer disappearing pictures and six second videos. That's not the format here. So we need to try to hold who we have, get some of the people who finally got real lives to lose them (thus finding time for Wordforge), and steal disgruntled TrekBBS folks, if we can rescue them before T'Bonz kills bans them.

Who's the last TBBSer to join this place? TNZ is a totally different place than it was 11 years ago, but it's pretty far removed from the horror stories I hear about when Lisa was running the joint. That lot seems to be happy in their hidey hole.

It's not even who owns the place aside from a couple of people. It's a lot of things...people's lives, the nature of the internet, what's cool lately, the largely repetitive and sometimes annoying content and WF has always had "seasons" some posters come and go based on certain times of year. It's a complex stew that has always had some poster or another claiming once again that WF is dead or dying.

There are one or two fairly recent TrekBBS refugees, but yeah, it's not as worthy an enemy these days.

Seriously, the problem wasn't TBBS in and of itself, but Lisa and her weird sense of "justice."

What garamet said. I never posted in TNZ until after I joined here (which I did only cuz I liked seeing Stewey twist himself into knots about his Enterprise hate-on so I followed him here), but I do remember hearing that even mentioning WF was a bannable offense there. Shit like that doesn't happen anymore....not even close.

Glad Scorp is adding to his grey library, that can be a handful.

I don't dare pull this place up at work so that kills two thirds of my time these days. Mornings? Some, but until I get my 24oz of coffee in me the last thing I want is to hop on a disintegrating merry go round that face it, most all threads become prior to a page two slide. Sure miss the comment hack, makes me less prone to interject than I thought it would. Oh well.
Besides, with a full day of facility fun my time is pretty much eaten up making sure all is up to par or better and for a small place time sure adds to the list daily. I have more to do on the personal front that has been untouched.

Funny, I was driving in and a thought crossed my mind. "The lubricant of life is money, the more you have the less you chafe."

I'm probably the most recent acquisition from TrekBBSme. I came here this past October when I was permabanned from TNZ for repeatedly suggesting to Ted that that he off himself.

Let's go back in time one year.....

these cops and lawyers wouldn't dare cross any of you. I mean, what happened? Did your balls drop off? Hmm? You see, a guy like me...

A guy like me... Look, listen. I know why you choose to have your little, ahem...group-therapy sessions in broad daylight. I know why you're afraid to go out at night. The Batman. See, Batman has shown Gotham your true colors, unfortunately. Dent, he's just the beginning. And as for the television's so-called plan...Batman has no jurisdiction. He'll find him and make him squeal. I know the squealers when I see them...and...

That's the thing. It'd be different if I actually missed something by turning off the derp, but it's been years since she posted something worthwhile. Since then she's devolved into a bucket of spite, capable only of playing (or at least attempting) endless rounds of 'gotcha' with those she feel wronged her somehow. It's pathetic and bad for the board. I want nothing to do with it.

Being a partial owner in no way obligates me to read every post or interact with certain people. There are 3 other owners and a couple other staff (you might have noticed we added some) that can deal with her.

Now I guess if the entire staff put her on ignore we'd have to draw straws for who got stuck on garamet duty (or maybe just rotate) but until then I'll enjoy my time here as much as possible.

So that's the real issue. You don't trust your compulsive self not to reply to my posts.

If you actually read one once in a while, you'd notice we're in accord about most things. Or maybe that's what really bothers you.

What is it with Gingers? Give them a little bit of power and they all turn into Donald Trump?

I don't know what disturbs me more, the ludicrous suggestion that Rick is so vile a troll she needs to be put on ignore, or Anc's pontificating about how he wants a better breed of Wordforger contributing "worthwhile" discussion without being able or willing to define any of his terms.
