A little off topic, but Jesse Jackson is a shake-down artist from way, way back. He would tell companies/corporations with a lot of black employees that there will be "trouble" (via Jesse stirring it up) unless they make a donation to the cause. Sounds like the old-fashioned protection rackets to me. So Jesse is well aware of inner-city violence and will exploit it all day - to end it would put him out of a job.
Not to step into the middle of this, but the correct response is that you're "dependent" on the police and society if you don't arm yourself. I don't necessarily entirely agree with that idea, but it's something to consider.
The choices aren't limited to Charles Bronson wannabe or cowering sheep. How about adult who prefers to leave criminal matters to the authorities but is prepared to use force responsibly in defense of himself or others if necessary?
Sounds reasonable. They stay in their lane (after the fact) and I'll stay in mine (during the actual event).
Perfection isn't on offer. Any responsibility carried by human beings will eventually be misused by someone. The solution is to penalize the person who failed in upholding their responsibility, not to deprive all others of it.
The word "paladin" has significance beyond its usage as the name of the main character in "Have Gun, Will Travel," you know. I mean, that IS where I took the name from, but just sayin'...
Isn't Kourtney Kardashian Persian by ethnicity? I would not be opposed to engaging in coitus with her if she twisted my arm enough!
