No really I am so sorry to all those who are not white because looking at faux news and the conservative redneck dumbass thing I am totally sorry about being white and when I see those people on TV I wish I could fucking tan to black because I would be tanning every day if I could turn black or brown. Now bring it on racists call me a race traitor. Tell me how horrible I am. The only people who will complain about this post are racist assholes. So please do show your true colors and argue with me. If this thread dies a death of inactivity then that is great. I will be happy to either expose more racism and apologize for it or make a thread which everyone understands and gets what I am talking about.
What I call you is someone who doesn't believe in your beloved pony philosophy. @John, burn this cunt.
I'm not sorry about being white, because my skin color has nothing to do with who I am. That being said, I do recognize that other people who have different skin colors haven't been as lucky as I have, and that such instances where people are discriminated against because of said skin color (or religion, gender, orientation, etc) should be mitigated and eliminated as soon as possible. So while I don't have white guilt (you can't help the color of skin you were born with), I do recognize that white males have had it pretty good lately, and can see far enough ahead that it won't stay that way much longer.
And that's why fake internet persona's are so much easier to spot than they think. They can't handle being just loony enough to piss people off, they have to go to extremes and out themselves most of the time.
Well done, OP. A very organized, sound, and sensible rant with clear and pragmatic solutions offered.
Do you people have no shame? When you see people like those duck dynasty fools, or perhaps congress don't you feel like this is not the best representation of our people, and they are all out there making a fool out of us? When you watch faux news, MSNBC, Alex Jones, Bill Maher, and every other moron out there don't you think the world is looking down on us for putting such dumbasses in lofty positions? Seriously, Paula Dean is a scary motherfucker when you really look at her, and she is white people. We allow inbred hicks like sarah palin to be vice presidential candidates in the old white guy party? There is no quality control and still yet we have people out there saying we have no need for others to help because we are america. Most of the people who say that want to grow up to be larry the cable guy. When did dumb as a stump become the white people rallying cry? Look around here to some of the people who think white christian conservatives are good people. Do those people appear to be smart or knowledgeable? Ronald Reagan is not the best we can do.
While I'd like to think people don't always fall for stereotypes, I know it does happen. I judge people based on their individual words and actions, and only when I have to do so. Keep in mind, too, that there are many conservatives who are black, one of them Herman Cain, who ran for office on the idea that he could manage the country like he managed his pizza chains. Even then, when considering ideology, it's not so cut and dry. I, for example, am very liberal, but there are times when I agree with certain stances that are considered conservative. I can only account for myself, my actions, and my beliefs. Oh, I can get upset at the behavior of others, but their skin color doesn't factor in unless they make it a factor. For example, if a Republican ran on a platform that said black people shouldn't be allowed to vote, that would definitely bring his race into the picture, but other than that, I don't really look at people as black or white being a defining characteristic. We're born with our skin color, but that doesn't mean we're beholden to it. We can make changes where skin color is an afterthought, where everyone is judged on their merits rather than their physical traits. It's a ways off, but I believe we can have that. Still, nothing occurs in a vacuum. For us to get to that point where skin color no longer works as an advantage or disadvantage will take time and effort on the part of everyone who wants to see it happen as much as I do, but that doesn't mean I have to be ashamed of who I am, only aware that my experiences are going to be quite different from those who didn't benefit from their skin color. Awareness doesn't equal shame. No one should have to feel shame based solely on the color of their skin.
People are dumbasses in spite of their colour, not because of it. If you can't grasp that concept then you really have no case to call others dumb.
Why should whites feel bad for a handful of idiots? I'm not ashamed of being black just 'cuz people like Al Sharpton and every rapper that isn't Eminem are.
That's such a white boy thing to say. Seriously, I have noticed that non-white people tend to be much more likely to consider race a significant part of who a person is. It's ironic, but maybe the ability to look beyond race is another form of white privilege.
I suspect this is the point you wish to make anyway, but just as Adrian Peterson shouldn't be seen as all black people, Sarah Palin shouldn't be seen as all white people.
yeabut the dumb as rocks white people have glee clubs (talk radio, TV etc. including lots of 'forgers). When was the last time a minority had such? White folks celebrate stupidity. Minorities seem to shake their collective heads and tell their own to get their shit together. yeah, I'm racist.
Well allow me to retort! Anyone (Liberal or Conservative) can have their own "glee clubs." There have been a few attempts at liberal talk radio but they failed for the most part. Ever hear of "equal opportunity, not equal outcome?" And minorities do have their own shows and networks BTW. And yes, those minorities in Chicago (and other violent crime rate urban areas) are really going all out to tell their own kind to get their shit together. How's that working out? How many black-on-black murders is it so far this month BTW?
"White privilege" is just a buzz phrase used by middle class liberals to attempt to silence argument.
I don't watch FOX News or any of the talking head commentators...I don't follow what's going on with Sarah Palin...I've never seen a single second of Duck Dynasty. I must be a bad White man... I have cooked a Paula Dean recipe for Southern Fried Chicken...it was delicious. <-----Racist.
Which argument would that be? I think it's a way to understand racism by looking at it from a societal rather than an individual perspective. It has more to do with the way society is structured than "person of race A doesn't like people of race B."
