I dunno, 45 percent of teen suicides is a helluva lot of shooting suicides. :marathon:

I'm not under the illusion that removing guns removes the means to off oneself, as Japan still has the rest of the world beat with self-pwnage and guns are next to impossible to get ahold of.

Leave the gods in the past. It's time to put away such childish things. Are they going to blow up some ancient temple? No? Then build the telescope. And, if you want to make a liberal's head explode, convert a Humvee to biodiesel.

Convert a Humvee to biodiesel? That's fantastic! The great thing about having a liberal mindset, at least for me, is that my mind is flexible enough that even if I disagree with the reasoning and meaning behind something, I accept that it exists. Of course, that may just apply to my mind, and not my political ideology (fancy that). ;)

Nothing can stop the Japanese from offing themselves. We needed to develop a "shame bomb" during WWII and we could have rolled in there without firing a shot.

It's never junk science when anti-gunners spout it. If they said large capacity magazines will cause the sun to burn out and you question it, you are trying to hide the truth. The NRA has you brain-washed. The sun will eventually burn out. And we do use large capacity magazines.
If you can't connect those dots the NRA has you brainwashed, you inbred pig fucking hillbilly racist cross burning woman-enslaving right winger!

I dislike the NRA, but only because I think they make responsible gun owners look crazy.

There is no need for 30 round clips and a great reason not to have them. Usually in mass shootings, like the one where Rep. Gifford was shot, it is when the shooter stops to reload is when folks jump them so cry all you want but 10 rounds is plenty.

Except it is everyone's business when a mass shooting occurs so, like it or not, the crazies have ruined it for everyone and now we need more rules. Tough shit if you want to whine about it.

Go get your tissue and tampon if you want to whine about like a little girl. You will live with a 10 round magazine.

I think 30 round Glock magazines should be banned simply because they're silly and anyone who brings one to the range is a douchebag.

No, it was generally stuff along the lines of, "Now you can crush your enemies and see them driven before you," or rather puns based on that line.

If you practice enough you can reload mags faster than anybody can get close to do anything about it. It's not rocket science. It somebody is going ape-shit with a gun are you going to be the guy who jumps in when they reload? Pics or it didn't happen.

That requires lots of practice most insane persons don't do. Just to be on the safe side California legally requires there to be no button to drop a magazine on an assault rifle. You have to use a special pen and stick it into a small hole to drop the magazine. Yes, it slows things down considerably as intended and solves the problem you mentioned.

 Funny, Georgia doesn't have this special pen! Probably Texas, Nevada, and other nearby states don't either. Guess insane people need to take a road trip!
This will not solve any problems. But hey, it's all about sleeping better at night.

But you're talking about rifles. You're not even talking about rifles, you're talking about a fairly specific subset of rifles. More people are murdered with bare hands and feet than rifles.

But why? Slowing down, staying calm, and carefully placing your shots on target, while frequently pausing to reload and reassess your tactical situation and target positions, just makes the weapon more effective. It up-converts the "slightly wounded" to solid head shots through the cerebellum. More to the point, anyone who owns an AR-15 or is actually going on a murder spree already bought a magnetic fix for $15 to $20, so you can use a California AR-15 just like one in Tennessee or Texas, and the new button even comes in different colors. :)

Utah, which has virtually no gun laws, has about a fourth the homicide rate of California.

Well isn't this strange? According to this chart, Washington D.C. (with very strict handgun laws) has an astronomical gun murder rate! :chris:Well now how could that be? I thought keeping
guns off the street saved lives? Hey foreigners and tourists, don't judge our whole nation by our capital. :nono: Not every city is a violent shit-hole.
My state of Georgia has a gun murder rate that is higher than California, but not by much, and we have virtually zero gun laws. And some states with zero gun laws have gun murder rates
that aren't even on the radar. Well color me shocked! :scary: Here I always thought that stricter gun laws = lower gun violence rates. I'm sure Dinner can tap-dance this fact into the ground. And holy shit! Georgia has twice the gun ownership rate of California. Well wouldn't it stand to reason that our gun murder rate would be twice as much? But it's just a fraction higher. No math in the Red Room but I'm sure there's a reason. And check out Washington D.C! The LOWEST rate of gun ownership but the HIGHEST gun murder rate! :chris:
It's almost like criminals have all the guns, and it's not how many guns are available but the people using them that are the problem. But I'm probably way, way off track. I need a super scary smart anti-gun liberal to explain this conundrum to my primitive gun using brain.

Why is old fellow trotting out that same old failed argument? Virtually all the guns used in crime in places like NYC or Chicago come from the states with weak gun laws via straw buyers. Close the loopholes and the problem will improve remarkably as the source of the illegal guns is shut off.

I can't really disagree with the last part. That said, when I had to carry a Glock 27, my spare magazines were still full-size Glock 22 magazines. I figured that if I was ever at a point where I actually needed spare magazines, I would have more pressing problems than worrying about looking stupid.

Oh, and Magpul is now offering dirt cheap Glock 17 magazines.
