I have this in line to watch, has it been good? I have heard good things. So this means they've shot the 3rd season without being cognizant that they've been cancelled?
Maybe if you'd fucking watched it, it'd be getting renewed. No, no, take your time, Honey Boo-Boo and Dancing With The Stars take precedence, I totally understand.
Season 1 was very good. Season 2 was great. And the season finale? Looking forward to Season 3, but it will be a bittersweet experience...
On the upside, this means Bryan Fuller will have more time to work on American Gods. (Now if we could just get Amazon or Netflix to bring back "Pushing Daisies" all would be right with the world, assuming they also brought back "Better Off Ted.")
If they can't move it to another network, they need to tack on an extra final scene to the last episode where Anthony Hopkins wakes up in bed with Jody Foster, and is like "Oh!! It was terrible! I was a young German man who had none of my classic mannerisms, and Will Graham was a killer, and had an obvious man-crush on me! And Crawford was a black guy! and Freddie Lounds was a girl! Everything was like my life, but not. It was so strange!". "It's your late night snacking. You know how a hand sandwich just before bed gives you nightmares. Try to get back to sleep". *Bob Newhart theme, MTM meowing kitten logo*
A TV series Rob Lowe was on got cancelled mid-season, but they told everyone they were going to complete the season, even though it'd never air, because they figured it'd be good for DVD sales to have extra episodes. Lowe, and others connected with the show, then suggested a bizarre ending of the series, where in the last episode its revealed that Lowe's character was revealed to be a serial killer, right before he commits suicide by jumping out a window. The execs were like, "Yeah, sure. Whatever. We don't care." So that's what they did.
I did watch some of the early episodes but didn't get into it. The acclaim around it has made me think I should go back, so this is disappointing.
Shut the hell up. Unless you're garamet years old (or older), nobody watches television the traditional way any more. I have no fucking clue how network television tracks ratings. I imagine it's mainly guesswork at this point, between time shifting and TiVo and Netflix and DVD/Blu-Ray and even antenna HDTV. Who has the patience to watch television the old-fashioned way?
I still prefer Manhunter and consider it a close tie to Silence of the Lambs in terms of entertainment value. All the other Hannibal Lechter stuff was shite.
Despite (because of?) the Michael Mann-80s-cheese, Manhunter is a pretty damned good movie. Great, now I've got the end credits song in my head:
Whelp, tomorrow is the series/season finale. If Bryan Fuller absolutely positively cannot get it revived as a web series, or movie, then I hope Lifetime forges ahead with their Clarice Starling series, cuz I just want more stories in that world.
Well, there's another series finale that'll be dissected for years... Now I want the DVD of season 3 to be out right now.
