You know, I'm reminded of some anti-gun types who scoff at the idea that citizens might want to be able to defend themselves if the government turned all Nazi on them, because that would totally never happen, yet in the same breath call Trump and his supporters Nazis and are terrified of the thought he might get elected.
Oh, they say lots of stupid shit, that is for sure, but claiming a wave is a secret Nazi salute is a bridge too far. Don't you think?
Oh it definitely makes sense for Clinton to agree. Put Johnson opposite her and it looks like splitting the anti-Clinton vote, even if he is pulling equally from both sides, since he'll only be debating Clinton instead of both of them. And they definitely look utterly cowardly and craven if they agree to no debates because Johnson would be invited. Even the MSM would pick up on that.
I don't, and you're deliberately missing the point because you're more interested in sneering than having an actual debate.
...the actual FUCK? No one knew the depth of Bush's retardedness, but why would anyone think that?! Not saying it didn't happen but...wow. But anyway...the question is: are we gonna keep doing the same thing of plugging our noses up again? Keep shrugging our shoulders and saying "we can't do anything"? How's that working out for gun control? The other part of it is, our culture is different from 2000. The environmental dumbasses that voted for Bush were likely for gay rights, but it wasn't a priority for most of us. Social media has brought that up into people's consciousness, among other things and despite the naivete about cops I do think even a good number of GOP members are put off by Trump's lack of tact. It's entirely possible to support the values of fiscal responsibility and putting families first with out pissing on minorities, and I hope that section of the GOP walks from the party according. Likewise, I want blacks that don't entirely align with Dems to go Libritarian, because we're a convenient political ally until after the election and nothing gets solved, either with them.
I wonder how many "progressives" would follow a Nazi President if they hid it behind "social justice" and other such slogans.
It won't happen. In the end free trade and free movement will mostly be retained though access to welfare by noncitizens will probably be restricted which is a good thing. Ten years from now the UK will probably have even more free trade agreements in place while tge remaining EU will likely be even more protectionist and even less competitive.
Yeah, I long ago learned my vote doesn't matter except for state or local races because the dem candidate will always win.
No. What part of my saying I wasn't going to vote for either of them made you think I was a Trump supporter?
Eh, don't worry about it. I get the same kind of shit. If I talk about how despicable Hillary is, people think I support Trump. If I talk about what a buffoon Trump is, they think I support Hillary. TL;DR: people are stupid.
Your question was a pretty good indication of what you thought. Not to mention your lecture about conservatism in the other thread.
1) Trump doesn't represent political conservatism. 2) My question above was designed to explore how you will deny the inevitable. That the worst possible Democratic candidate (and worst still, an insult to he feminist desire for a woman) will become president because the GOP has lost so much sight of true political conservationism that it's now repulsing people that would've voted for it in the Reagan, Bush and Bush II years. So tell me, who are you going to vote for?
In 10 years, post Brexit, the UK will have permanently disbanded Parliament and formed a cult-of-personality around this family: There will be fashion police in the streets. Being unhappy will be unheard of. Simon Cowell will be minister of defense and Adele will be foreign minister. Former colonies like India, Pakistan, and Rhodesia will demand to be readmitted and placed under British rule. France will cede Flanders back to Britain just to have a share of British awesomeness in mainland Europe. The US will name an aircraft carrier after Prince George. Easy to predict the future is.
Some even think there's implication in the gospel of John that Jesus was gay. Twice Jesus was "leaning on the breast" of the "disciple that he loved".
