I do think she was stupid claiming everyone who disagrees with her is a bigot. She is a in a dead heat and needs to convince people to come to her side and you don't do that by calling those people names.

That is the Gul approach and it does not convert people to your viewpoint.

This just in. Obama is a Muslim. He's never renounced Islam and his father is a Muslim, so that makes him a Muslim under Muslim rules of conquest (which is patrilineal unless the father is not-Muslim, in which case he'll be killed for fucking a Muslim woman).

because she has nothing to lose and something specific to gain.

Every one of those sub-sets of folks she describes, white nationalists, stridently anti-LGB/T, Muslum-haters, xenophobes, whatever - not a one of them is going to consider for a nanosecond voting for her...she can hurt their pride all she wants and not lose a single vote
    HOWEVER
there are not a few undecided voters who do not have the stomach to make common cause with such people, so when she effectively says "a vote for Trump is a vote for a candidate who motivates, enables, and embraces this kind of ideology" the voters who are available will, if they believe that, be repelled by the notion of voting for him.

Again, she has painted them into a corner where they dare not admit that even DAVID DUKE is deplorable, and that's a stain that might very well stick. It borders on brilliant, actually.

The only place where it has gone wrong so far is that our media has become so numb to Trump and his supporters bullshitery that rather than look at the numbers and go "she's not wrong" (which would be a correct assessment) they just rest on their heels and say "insulting voters is bad form"

Nevermind Trump has been insulting voters from the jump - remember what he said in December about potential Carson voters? "How stupid are the people of Iowa?"
and now they let the same man get away with saying "You can't be president with such a low opinion of the people" and don't even bother to challenge that claim.

And yet, somehow, the right wing echo-chamber is certain the media is in the tank for Clinton. If they were, the (actual) "deplorables" would be the only story we'd hear about from now until November.

You're still not getting it. Suppose Trump came out and denounced half the Hillary voters as murdering child rapists, thugs, pimps, prostitutes, animal torturers, Satan worshipers, and Chinese spies.

Would he be wrong? Technically yes, as virtually all Hillary voters fall into those categories, not just half.

Would he lose a ton of votes by saying it? Yes.

And Trump takes Hillary's "basket of deplorables" fumble and runs it into the end zone:

I was . . . deeply shocked and alarmed this Friday to hear my opponent attack, slander, smear and demean these wonderful, amazing people who are supporting our campaign.

Our support comes from every part of America, and every walk of life. We have the support of cops and soldiers, carpenters and welders, the young and the old, and millions of working class families who just want a better future.

These were the people Hillary Clinton so viciously demonized. These were among the countless Americans that Hillary Clinton called deplorable, irredeemable and un-American. She called these patriotic men and women every vile name in the book – she called them racist, sexist, xenophobic, and Islamaphobic.

She called them a “basket of deplorables” in both a speech and an interview. She divides people into baskets as though they were objects, not human beings.

Hillary Clinton made these comments at one of her high-dollar fundraisers in Wall Street.

She and her wealthy donors all had a good laugh. They were laughing at the very people who pave the roads she drives on, paint the buildings she speaks in, and keep the lights on in her auditorium.

Hillary Clinton is an insider, supported by powerful insiders, attacking Americans who have no political power.

Hillary Clinton spoke with hatred and derision for the people who make this country run.

She spoke with contempt for the people who thanklessly follow the rules, pay their taxes, and scratch out a living for their families.

While Hillary Clinton lives a sequestered life behind gates and walls and guards, she mocks and demeans hardworking Americans who only want their own families to enjoy a fraction of the security enjoyed by our politicians.

After months of hiding from the press, Hillary Clinton has revealed her true thoughts.

She revealed herself to be a person who looks down on the proud citizens of our country as subjects for her to rule over.

Her comments displayed the same sense of arrogance and entitlement that led her to violate federal law as Secretary of State, hide and delete her emails, put classified information in the reach of our enemies, lie to Congress, and sell government favors and access through her Foundation.

It’s the same attitude that explains why Hillary Clinton refuses to take accountability for the deadly disasters she helped to create in Iraq, in Syria and in Libya.

To this day, she still won’t take accountability for her role in unleashing ISIS across the Middle East – or for putting Iran on the path to a nuclear weapon.

Hillary Clinton believes she is above the law, that she is above accountability, and that she is above each and every one of you.

Our campaign is about giving voice to the voiceless. It’s about representing the forgotten men and women of this country.

I’m here to represent everyone, but especially those who are struggling against injustice and unfairness.

I am running so that the powerful can no longer beat up on the powerless. I’m running to take on the special interests, the big donors, and the corrupt political insiders.

I am running to be your voice.

Of if you prefer volleyball, he just spiked the ball into her face. :storm:

As I've been telling you folks forever, Hillary is a horrible candidate. That stems from the fact that she's a horrible person. Even Bill doesn't like her.

She is what in high school is termed the "alpha" female. All the beta girls suck up to her because they're terrified that the alpha will destroy them. Yet they all hate her.

Nah. Like lots of people, I'll just vote for the person standing up for me instead of the elitist criminal bitch married to the serial rapist.

Hillary went from having one bad week to have a very bad week, and now she's convalescing while continuing to lie about her health - even as she's made fools of the entire press corps. They're not happy because she made it obvious that they were shills.

And Assange is still out there, waiting to drop 50,000 pages of e-mails, the ones she was working so hard to hide. A former DNC chair is already saying the DNC needs to be ready to step in and replace her on the ticket. It's going to get worse from there and Democrat politicians start circling like sharks.

But the DNC is going to find out why all the other self-important and ambitious Democrat politicians decided not to challenge her last year. She destroys people without mercy or remorse and she is not going to step down as the nominee. The power struggle will put her under even more stress, causing more public episodes where she collapses or tweaks out, raising yet more doubts about her fitness for office.

And Trump is going to drive her into the ground like she was a badly wounded Jeb!, especially in the debates. She'll probably leave on a gurney in the first hour of the first debate, then retreat to Chapaqua where she'll issue a long string of lies.

She rigged the primaries, hijacked the nomination, and isn't fit enough to support Democrat House and Senate candidates. All she does is hang out at closed fundraisers with elite entertainers and billionaire bankers to rake in more and more cash, which she'll end up pocketing. At some point Democrats will realize they were robbed by an utterly corrupt, self-serving witch and her corrupt cronies, as if they were a bunch of ignorant Haitian peasants.

She definitely has something to lose: the election. This is the sort of shit that motivates the other side's voters to actually show up on election day.

Sorry for his loss (while a psychotic killer, it's a tragedy to lose a son) but his banner sucks! :brood: "makes the biggest investment...." in what? To what is he referring? I'm not a mind reader.
And the last statement "gun control laws" is clear as mud. What about gun control laws? Is he saying Hillary is for control laws, against them, what? We already have gun control laws and like any laws some people obey them and some don't. I don't think any laws period would have stopped his son when he's on a suicide mission.

No he wouldn't. He gets away with shit like that all the time. He said it himself...he could shoot somebody in the middle of Times Square in front of God and everybody and he wouldn't loose any votes.

Hillary seems to have thought she could get away with it too. Must have been the cough medicine. She did look kind of loopy.

Well you are an idiot, since that's not what she did. She said some of them were racists. An example of the concept might go like this. Half of San Diego area Wordforgers are deplorable racist scum. That statement does not have anything to do with Anna. Alternatively, I disagree with Order2Chaos on many issues. But he is not a racist. You are a racist, even though I agree with you on certain issues. Stop being such a stupid fuck.

This. The truth may be deplorable, but stating the truth isn't.

Trump is openly running a campaign based on appealing to white nationalists, xenophobes, homophobes, misogynists, and other assorted deplorables. There is no actual policy basis to the Trump campaign beyond its appeal to various bigoted grievances; the campaign has demonstrated less understanding of policy than Teh Baba has. Hitting the fainting couch because people are willing to notice and call out the naked bigotry of the Trump campaign and its supporters is an exercise in enabling that bigotry, and is itself rather fucking deplorable.

Not Hillary (and not more shit economy) is a pretty fuckin compelling point.

Wall St fears the uncertainty of a The Donald win. Volatility has spiked as Hillthief's health has become an issue. Understandably so since corporatists love the Dems (for the same reason The Donald donated so much to Hillpig's campaign funds in past).

But in the long run The Donald at his worst checked by a GOP congress could not possibly do worse than Obama has, or than Hillliar would, and might even do a lot better.

Yesterday' rally appears to be pretty universally attributed to the fed announcing it would continue its 'free money' policy (and not a hike next move, as had been previously hinted). [eight fuckin years of free money and still the worst recovery on record, yay to obama-Clinton.]

But today's plummet and the hike in the VIX reek of uncertainty-related market movements - and I think it's pretty obvious that Thieving Clinton more likely represents the status quo (hence less uncertainty) and that Embarrassing Boob Trump presents more uncertainty. But you're a bright guy, I'll hear ya out, what do you got?

    And it is glorious.

The Pope is a wacko socialist from an unrepentent Fascist country that harbored Nazis.

John McCain was probably cracked by the North Vietnamese.

Khizr Khan is a staunch supporter of sharia whose law business depends on open Muslim immigration to the US.

Hillary Clinton is an extreme bigot, so full of hatred and contempt that she can't even hide it. She married a man whose hero tried to keep black children from going to white schools - and who deployed state police to stop them. Tellingly, her husband has never raped a black women, which is more evidence of bigotry because he's raped everyone else.

And if Obama was a traitor, what would he be doing differently? Nothing that anyone can think of.

What's great about Trump is that he speaks his mind, openly and freely.

It will take historians 50 years to reach a verdict on whether Hillary likes her husband, or whether she's for or against any known issue.
