With both parties dueling for the Oval Office, 2016 should prove to be quite a spectacular show!

And BOTH being a big problem, as the U.S. political landscape is in the end just a Duopoly (of the Repubs & Dems). The 2 have kept a stranglehold on the political system for ... forever for all practical purposes.

Oh damn! I forgot, we ARE a nation of more than 2 parties, there's also the Conservative & Liberal Parties!

Don't tease me. I've been wanting that to happen for the last 20 years.

I'm still convinced the only reason Kerry got re-elected in 1996 is that people didn't want to give Weld up as governor.

Hillary has hired one of the big guns from Google to work on her campaign. One of her projects at Google was the "find my polling place" feature of Google. She's said to be wicked smart. I have a feeling Hillary's going to be very tough to beat.

The question about Hillary is whether she'll end up in prison before the campaign is over.

And? It was initiated by Larry freakin Klayman, and has as much a chance of succeeding, as his oh so well thought out plan to "take Obama alive for using Ebola as a weapon against whites."

And George HW Bush was hit with them as well. Has he served any time in prison? Both W and Cheney have been declared to be war criminals by various foreign governments, we could have Democratic controlled Congresses and White House from now until both Bushes and Dick Cheney die, and the odds of them ever seeing a court room over the matters are the same as Hillary's: Zero.

They didn't delete 30,000 e-mails that are almost certainly in the possession of American enemies. Hillary, for lack of a better term, has been compromised.

Oh, I'm fairly certain that the NSA still has copies. What with Snowden showing that the NSA likes to "hoover up" as much of the internet as it possibly can and all.

Since she has been compromised, the NSA will almost certainly find a way to point her competitors in the right direction to uncover some juicy tidbits, if it comes to that. As it is she's polling three points behind Rand Paul in Colorado, of all places, and trailing him in Iowa. Rand Paul.

On the Democratic side, Lincoln Chafee announces plans to run:

    http://www.wsj.com/articles/lincoln...democratic-presidential-nomination-1428592507

Looks like he's planning to take on Clinton on foreign policy, more so than domestic issues.
@RickDeckard, he is what happens to moderate Republicans. More and more, they become Democrats. When Hillary voted for the Iraq war, he was one of the few Republican senators to vote against it. He later switched parties and served as Rhode Island's governor. Like Bush and Clinton, he also represents a bit of a political dynasty, as his Father preceded him in the Senate. That said, it's not quite the same level as the other two in that regard. I've always liked both the elder and younger Chafees, and plan to take a good look at Lincoln as he forms up his campaign themes.

I dread the coming election. I mean... all the Repugs so far seem to be in love with some romanticized picture an America that didn't even exists in the 1870s. Wild west, yee haw! And Hillary? I get the vibe that she's saying whatever the audience wants to hear. At least she'll probably try and remind the people of the good times in the 90s. While she has 120 odd years on the competition, that world still doesn't exist any more.

Either way, it's backwards. Unless there is a surprise candidate with a forward agenda fit for the 2020s this is gonna be one sad administration. A little war here, a social program there won't change the fact that the US - like Europe! - needs boldness and courage more than anything else.

Not possible. Until 2022 we will likely have divided government. Even if the VERY unlikely occurs and the Dems take back both chambers remember when Obama, fresh off a landslide where he ran on bold change, was only able to get a Republican Health Plan through, a stimulus package that was only 30% actual spending, and Wall Street reform that couldn't even move us back to Reagan Era levels of regulation.

Don't look for any big legislative items getting through, only executive order nibbling around the edges like Obama's been doing.
