Honestly, fuck all extremists who resort to violence. Muslim, Christian, Budhist, Jewish, or otherwise. Though, the reality is that such extremists represent an infinitesimally small portion of Muslims. Using the most liberal estimates, there's up to 100,000 members of Muslim extremist groups such as ISIS. That's 0.00625% of all Muslims.
I get that - but if you allow those 0.00625 percent to operate with little opposition your country gets fucked in the process. If our cities ever get like many in western Europe are getting (depending on who you believe) hammer them. We have enough home grown violence - we don't need any more. In other words these "no-go" zones for police (if true) are FUCKED UP. Not no, but hell no - no fucking way should any cops be afraid to patrol an area or not allowed to. That is some fucked-up leadership right there. You have at that point lost control of your country and given the "bad" muslims a green light.
It's not that they allow it so much as it is they don't have the same infrastructures, systems, and resource as we have to help combat it. That used to be the Ottoman Empire. Much like Germany descended into chaos after WWI, so did the Middle East. But Germany had just enough resources to almost immediately pose another global threat. The Middle East just got thoroughly fucked up even more from meddling from Western Powers and even Russia during and after the Cold War. Now we're seeing with ISIS a lot of the same shit as we saw in the rise of Naziism in Germany: extreme nationalism and xenophobia, extreme violence, and a rapid spread. But the domestic governments lack the resources to top it. Just as it wasn't representative of German culture (which existed well before and after Nazis), it is not representative of Islamic culture.
