If Anna is angry and bitter about Trump then I guess I'm hysterical. You guys need better barometers.
Why can't we all just agree that President Donald Trump is a vulgar, profane, repulsive man utterly unqualified by any reasonable measure to be president now (and most likely ever) and simply leave it at that? . Isn't that enough?
Videos, TV news shows, social media feeds, personally going down to a protest and seeing things first hand, talking with people all over in my daily life. If you haven't noticed the hysteria then either you don't get out much or you are trying not to see it. Granted, I live in California so the shear number of liberals loosing their shit and becoming irrationally emotional and angry makes it harder to over look. Maybe other parts of the country are different.
I heard one of Nixon's people on NPR this weekend and he said that Nixon "...may have had questionable morals, but I'm not sure that the current president has any at all."
1) I find you dishonest generally 2) your support and defense of him here is undeniable 3) you previously mentioned you'd give him your support because of the SCOTUS seat availiable Case. Closed.
1) Why? 2) I've given my reasons more than once. 3) I did change my mind and posted about it here. If you read what I posted you would remember I said that the Senate Republicans should man up and take seriously their role of preventing liberals from being appointed to the Supreme Court rather than continually hope for a GOP president.
I know right, "There has never been a man or a woman more qualified than Hillary Clinton to serve as the next US president. " Barack Obama Except, you know, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, James Madison, and James Monroe.
She was Secretary of State for about five years. She never held elected office until she became a Senator in 2001. Before that she was a first lady of the US and Arkansas. Let's take George H.W. Bush: House Representative Texas 7th District: January 3, 1967 – January 3, 1971 United States Ambassador to the United Nations: March 1, 1971 – January 18, 1973 Chair of the Republican National Committee: January 19, 1973 – September 16, 1974 Chief of the U.S. Liaison Office to the People's Republic of China: September 26, 1974 – December 7, 1975 Director of Central Intelligence: January 30, 1976 – January 20, 1977 43rd Vice President of the United States: January 20, 1981 – January 20, 1989 And that's just him. Bill Clinton had a far more impressive resume than his wife. He was Governor for 12 years. And before that he was Attorney General for Arkansas. It baffles me why so many people fall for the whole Hillary is the most qualified/most impressive political resume schtik. It's propaganda.
I think it has to do with simply her being around for so long. People figured that someone in the public eye for a quarter century must have actually done something to justify being there.
That quote function still baffles you, huh? Is it because you don't understand how it works, or don't agree to how it works?
She was a *bad* Sec of State for five years. Although maybe that was because she was (carrying out her Administration's bad policies)(her and Chelsea dodging bullets in Bosnia made her scared).
You've got to consider the source; when asked what he had done that qualified him to be president, Obama famously replied 'well, I ran a good campaign.' [a reasonable reply, for what other experience or accomplishments could he name at that point?
Solicited election funds from foreign countries multiple times and after being warned by the FEC. I agree they will never do anything, but it is against the law. There are four years to his term. It is highly likely he will do things which will result in his impeachment. It has been two weeks and be has already come very close to contempt of court. He does not have much self control. He is ignorant of the laws which makes it likely he will accidentally cross the line. He is drunk with power and getting more confident rotational which means he is likely to cross the line because he does not like the line. In other words time is his enemy and if this were Vegas they would not even give you even odds on a bet he would not be impeached. If there is a democrat surge in the mid terms belong even have his party to protect him from it.
Obama was quite unqualified for the position due to his age and his experience. However he knew the laws. He had served for a time in the Senate which gave him some idea of what goes on. Trump clearly is not educated on the laws and how our government works. Trump admits he is in need of educated advisors because he does not have the knowledge, experience, or mental capacity to do the job. We can look at Obama's first couple of weeks vs trump's and realise there is a huge difference in preparation and readiness for the office.
Heh, and they wonder how we know, or on what conservatives base claims, that the vast majority of modern lefties basically think the same. Meanwhile even with the small fraction these days of non-lefties who haven't split you find the most diverse assortment of opinions (FF (you), Zombie, X, TR, Pru, O2C, Palladin who's back, Dayton).
