You do know that as far as our most advanced science can tell us so far, Earth is unique. The only planet known to have life of any kind in the universe at all. Far and away the only one to have intelligent life.

Sure, there might be others. But there is approximately zero evidence at this point.

At one time there was zero evidence of people not only living in North America but that it even existed. Our advanced science isn't capable of finding life on other planets yet.

You can't claim that the Earth is small and insignificant when according to everything we know at this point it is completely unique.

    You posted

Given the staggering size of the entire universe and the billions upon billions of planets scattered about the cosmos that exist both now and in the past, I can't see how God gives a shit whether we on this little rock masturbate over our neighbors hot wife, eat beef on Friday's or say "Jehovah". The whole idea of sin is just ludicrous.

Given that as far as we know Earth is completely unique in the entire universe then it seems obvious why God would care about what happens on this "little rock"

In short, what science can currently tell us completely rebuts your post.

Fine, science isn't necessary if you have faith in something. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. I have faith that there is other life in the universe. It is far too large, far too vast for this to be the only planet on which there is life. If we are the only life, then what is the point for the universe to exist. For idiots like "Dayton" to mouth breathe? Intelligent design, or the supposed God wouldn't be that stupid.

You can also apply that to relationships. You wouldn't ask your wife to prove that she loves you, would you? Also, you wouldn't want her stay with you out of fear, but because she loves you and wants to be with you? What good is any relationship if it's based on fear an manipulation? Dicky would understand that if had ever had a girlfriend other than the kind you blow up.

Oh, we accept this. The problem is Christians who attempt to use the Bible as a science or history book.

Not only that, but the choices would be, a) your life (the iron) is not your own, but to live as someone else would have you live or b) live your own life (touch the iron).

Most of those scrutinizing the Bible (or any holy text) that I've met are using asking why it doesn't tell us what happens if we touch the iron or how to turn it off.

My grandmother's advice to her four daughters on birth control was "don't do it"

My grandmother had four grandchildren by age forty.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

that's an interesting thought given that - particularly among the bible-belt folks I've dealt with - I've long found it fascinating that people who expect me to take it as an inarguable given that the God of the Bible exists (which I'm not arguing here that he doesn't) despite lack of any sort of objective proof see no irony at all in demanding that I provide some inarguable scientific proof for my condition (which, there's a persuasive scientific case but very little in science is indisputable if you work at it)

Let's turn Dayton's logic around. If the universe is so huge. Like if it were the size of the Sun, the Earth would be the size of an atom. If this God entity made the whole thing, why only put humans on one tiny little speck? And furthermore more, why wait 10 billion years to even start life? Then wait another 3 billion years to create humans? And then wait 3 million years to send Jesus down? And then put him down in a remote area favoring the Hebrews while ignoring everyone else on the planet. And then send him down not today when his message could be spread instantly but 2000 years ago when traveling across an ocean was impossible? The whole thing is just fantasy.
