I find it hard to believe that any political in the same situation as the GOP presently is (ie controls the White House and Congress) would be willing to impeach their President, even if he were to be found with a dead gay prostitute in his hotel room. At most, I could see them purging some of the people around the President, but not the President himself.

No matter what the political alignment, no congresscritter can ignore treason. Colluding with the Russians to influence the election would, I believe, be treason. In other words, a high crime and misdemeanor.

I'd be surprised...a little...if Trump actually colluded with the Russians himself. Bannon? Hell yeah, but at worst, I think Trump was probably willfully ignorant. Probably.

Remember that Flynn was sacked because he lied to Pence and other White House officials.

It would be easy to see that Flynn's testimony not result in anything happening to Trump. Especially if Flynn testifies to lying to Trump and the White House team.

Nothing surprises me after seeing the family values people of south Carolina re etc their governor who was supposedly hiking in the Appalachian trail but was caught picking up a south American bride in south America while his wife was at home trying to cover for him. I think he was aware, but not directly involved. He is a notorious delegator on complex things, he likes it simple. So probably Flynn or Miller or someone says to him "we can do this thing with the Russians, it will be a big help plus you can make billions" and Trump thinks "Putin loves me, he's a smart leader" and says to them "sure, make it happen" without bothering himself with details

Possibly, but remember, according to Eric Trump, the Russians are the largest foreign investors in Trump's operations. There might well be more going on here than it appears.
