No, they'd be paying them to say there is climate change in order to justify the tax. If the gov paid them to say there is no climate change, then the tax is unjustified (which in reality it is). But by paying them to say that using gas is going to drill holes in the planet and destroy the solar system and yada yada yada the government justifies its tax. "u should feel guilty for living like modern humans, and because u feel guilty u shouldn't yell when we steal money on top of the money we already stole which was on top of the money we already stole, but u shouldn't yell because u deserve it because you aren't living in mud huts with thatch roofs."
