http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-nbcbionicwomanpilot,0,7939355.story?coll=zap-tv-headlines I have no idea what this is about but I think some of the older folk here on WF () might be interested.
I don't remember the bionic dog. But it would stand to reason that there would be bionic dogs as testbeds before there were bionic men or wimmin.
It is generally a pretty safe flirting gamut, if a 30 year old girl tells you her name is Jaimie, to ask "Oh? Like the Bionic Woman?" I'm two for two on that. The reply generally runs along the lines of "YES! How did you KNOW?! They were also thinking of naming me 'Lindsay'."
I read the O.P., and thought "Sounds ok, hope the actress is hot.". Then read the second post, and "Holy shit!! Techman!!". Then saw the date of the post. Was the show ever made or broadcast?
It was a terrible remake in my opinion. I don't think anyone (including me) realized just how much the original character relied on Lindsay Wagner. How good was she in this role? Hell she won an Emmy for basically playing in what amounted to an "evil twin" episode. A woman in a science fiction show which is a direct spinoff of yet another science fiction show wins an Emmy in a story that is a replay on one of the most hackneyed plots there is. That tells you she had to be great in it.
Another reason the remake of failed. No Richard Anderson (Oscar Goldman). Didn't he die yesterday? I don't think anyone realizes how much both The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman depended on his serene, calming presence. Anderson's character could present even the most over the top mission in such clear, calm terms that it made it believable. Not to mention he conveyed genuine concern for his agents. If you ever wanted the government to look good, embodying it in Richard Anderson would do the trick.
If you had a three-way with them, you'd hear this from the Wonder Woman end... ...and this from the Jamie Sommers end...
