I imagine you get triggered every time you see or hear the film title "It". I mean Pennywise is clearly male, why should we refer to him in a non-binary manner.
Love how people pull out tazers thinking they are safer than guns. They aren't. they can cause cardiac arrhymias - for non medical folk that reads bad heart rhythms - which can be fatal. Even in healthy folk. And then someone will scream about that And for all you folk - except Elwood - who claim to know know to fix the police, get out of your chair, put on a uniform and show us how to do it better. I for one would love to see less death, but I prefer less police officers dead at the hands of "sick" "innocent" offenders as well as less offenders dead
for the most part there has been little emphasis placed on Scout's gender/sexuality, and that's as it should be really. Yes there are a few people (not on wordforge) who played the "good riddance to bad rubbish/one less freak in the world" attitude but there always a few of those around. I wouldn't want one of my family members to die a young, tragic death but to be honest it was "suicide by cop" and to me it's a selfish method to commit suicide. If you are dead-set (no pun intended) on killing yourself find a tall building or tower with no people or cars underneath you, or buy a sturdy rope and find a big strong tree branch. Atlanta has a shit-load of big trees and Home Depot stores. You are already making it rough on your family members & friends, don't add fuel to the fire by making even more drama. And if Scout didn't think getting shot by cops creates a shit-storm I would be very surprised. Side note: humans, while highly evolved mentally, are a pretty fucked up species in general. Suicide, relentless hatred, serial delusional thinking, bottomless greed, various forms of homicidally dangerous mental illness, etc.etc. must be side-effects of our highly evolved brains. Or maybe I'm just talking out my ass, who knows?
Pennywise is a disguise an alien/demon uses to lure children (who are easier to fill with terror and manipulate) to their doom. The creature is neither male nor female.
Did Pennywise tell you to say that? Actually it sounds like something he'd say himself........Zombie (if that's your real name!)
I'm open to the argument that Tasers were not the magic answer here - or anywhere Less so to the idea that the police could look at this individual and see someone who has any serious likelihood of killing one of them.
I've not seen such a motive reported or alluded to. There were initial reports that s/he had a history of mental illness diagnoses. Possibly provoked by mistreatment? It's unclear. It's certainly possible that in a certain state of mind, a person might convince themselves they were calling attention to the distress of either mental illness sufferers, or intersex people.
Of course he was mentally ill. He tried to change genders like normal people change shirts. Trans people, almost universally, are deeply, deeply mentally ill and not "transitioning" doesn't really help and that is why their post "transition" suicide rate remains sky high. That is also why so many try to "transition" back to their original gender. The cops did everything right in this case but that nutter was out to end his life. That is what happens when you are dealing with a deeply unstable and highly mentally ill person.
Another justified shooting this time in Huntington Beach. Advice to would be criminals: Don't attack police officers, if you do then definately do not try to grab their gun while you are violently attacking a police officer. https://www.yahoo.com/news/video-shows-california-police-officer-122605349.html
Easy to say he wasn't a likely threat AFTER the fact. Show the video to somebody who hasn't heard of the incident and is unaware of the outcome, and the fact that all he ended up being armed with was a multi-tool. Get a job where you tote a gun and have to make life-or-death decisions (maybe you've had such a job) and perhaps things don't seem so cut-and-dried. Now let's factor this in: the cop who shot Scout was a female. Right here in the great state of Georgia we have had female cops WITH GUNS get physically overpowered by stronger male suspects and tragedy ensued. So perhaps Scout wouldn't seem to be a threat to a 220 pound young male cop as to a smaller cop or a female cop or an older cop, or whatever. And don't get me wrong here - pound-for-pound females are as tough and able as men, but physics don't lie. Scout was acting unstable - continually advancing after being told to drop your weapon while armed cops surround you pretty much proves this. Thus at any time Scout could have rushed that female cop. Again, we don't know if Scout can't bust out a lightning fast sprint when he/she wants to. And Scout isn't tiny - factor in strength and a sudden adrenaline burst and would you want Scout within twenty feet of you holding what you have been told is a knife? My point being every situation has to be assessed on the spot in real time by the person(s) toting the gun.
