It's only a fireable offense if the employer decides it's a fireable offense.

Yes, and the employer will have to decide whether offending many of his customers is worth keeping the employee.

I agree. I support a football team owner firing any player who "takes a knee". It's their team, so it's their choice. It doesn't mean I think they deserve to be fired (FWIW I don't), but it doesn't matter what I think.

Yeah, I really don't give a shit if an owner fires a player. I think it's a dick move, but I don't really watch football so I have no skin in the game (if you'll pardon the pun).

I've lived in "Football Country", and I have to say that if one tenth of the people who say they're swearing off the NFL actually do it, I'll be surprised as hell.

I watched like 5 college games on Sat to get my fix, and taped a couple more for Sunday jonesing. It's liberating; plus I skipped all that negative energy rooting for Dallas to lose, and anyway the Giants suck balls, plus I've not yet really embraced my new Texans team, so I kind of traded up, with the anarchy that is college football easily exceeding the often pedestrian stretch of the first ten weeks in the pro arenas. [Plus on Sundays now I can catch up on watching musicals I missed.]

No backpedaling here coward. Cops need to treat black citizens better specifically and all citizens better generally. Not being colorblind isn't the same as being racist, dumbass.

I really think this is an oversimplification of the issues at hand here. I don't think more black cops will automatically make the problem go away. While I was impressed by the Black PD Chief in Dallas after 5 of his officers were shot while out actually supporting a BLM rally in his city, keep in mind that 3 of the 6 officers involved in the murder of Freddie Gray in Baltimore were black.

And seriously, the "snitches get stitches" mentality that you mention is among a small minority of black people. Most of us are hard working, home owning citizens who like safe neighborhoods and higher property values. Don't believe the hype. Most of the anti-establishment mentality is shared amongst the lower income earners of all races.

I agree that it is mostly the lower income earners who have that mentality. You still have multimillionaires who have the thug life mentality though.

Well, Kamala Harris (D-CA) has proven she is just another piece of shit racist. Reacting to black protesters getting booed during their national anthem protests she shrieked that the protester "should not be bullied or harassed". Fuck you, Kamala.

Everyone else also has a free speech right to say what they want and responding to a public protest is not "harassment" or "bullying". Also everyone gets to spend their hard earned money how they want and if they decide they don't want to spend it supporting pampered NFL multimillionaires who want to snivel about how unfair their country supposedly is to them then that is also fair game.

That is taking marketing to the extreme when they murder other people or get murdered themselves. I mean there have been numerous cases of this.

Tell that to pampered NFL millionaire Michael Bennet, who had a gun put to is head and was threatened with death if he moved for running from a gunman (along with several other white party-goers) in Las Vegas a month ago. :dayton:

And even if they were all so fucking spoiled that they had no right to bitch about personal injustices...does that mean they can't stand up for others? Should gay celebrities living in LA not be able to stand up for gay rights because they personally aren't being harassed on a daily basis? Or is it maybe ok for them to look outside themselves and realize how lucky they are to not be a flaming homo in rural Mississippi and use their fame to try to get a dialogue started?

As I've said, they are taking a risk no doubt....but to imply that people who aren't being directly affected have no reason to protest is ridiculous.

Hopefully the guy who pulled a gun was arrested but trying to smear everyone who booed due to one man's actions is asinine.

It is more about the claim that disagreeing or not supporting theor "protest" is some how "bullying or harassment". That is just a retarded claim by my embarassment of a junior senator.

LOL!! The guy that put a gun to his head was an LVMPD officer. His union and the department feel that the officers did nothing wrong and further stated that his running and hiding from an active shooter ( :waiting:) was "suspicious behavior" even though the dozens of white party goers were not for doing the same thing. This is why Michael Bennett protest now.

The owner of the Dolphins has ordered all players on the field to stand for the national anthem. Those who do not wish to do so can remain in the tunnel out of sight.

Ahh, the whole if you dislike a female candidate due to her specific actions then you must hate all women canard. Just like "if you don't vote for Hillary then you are a misogynist" claim.

I would have thought you dumb asses would have figured out that transparent smear doesn't work but I guess I gave you too much credit. It is the modern version of "how long have you been beating your wife"; a baseless leading question designed specifically to smear.

    Trump won.

Like I said it was only a matter of time before the owners turned on the players. That the owners being out there with the players was a bullshit PR move.

The teams are looking at ticket sales, attendance numbers, ratings, merchandise sales, and they are in full panic mode.

I do expect that eventually we will get to a point where someone is actually fired for taking a knee during the anthem.
