This lawyer thinks that the Stormy Daniels lawsuit will be Trump's undoing. According to him, the lawsuit has been structured in such a way that the judge is basically going to be forced to rule that the NDA is invalid, no matter what. Once this happens, you'll have a floodgate of stuff pouring out, possibly including naked pictures of Trump and much more. https://openargs.com/oa154-stormy-daniels-is-a-legal-genius/

I'm not certain I buy that the lawsuit will take down Trump, but I think he's probably right about the NDA being invalid.

At this point, I don't know if it would hurt him. The bar is set so much lower for Trump than it has been for ... well, probably any other president in living memory. If it's proven that he had an affair with a porn star while his wife was recuperating from giving birth to his son, the evangelicals will go "Well, we got a Supreme Court justice so it's okay," the micropenis-sporting Pepe the Frog brigades will go "You da man," and late-night comedians will get a couple weeks of fodder before everyone shrugs and gives a collective "meh."

Wouldn't publishing nude pics of him constitute revenge porn even without an NDA?

Yep. This is exactly what will happen.

I think you guys haven't figured out yet that the Republican voters who voted for Trump just don't give a damn anymore.

We were told that Clinton's affairs in the White House:

And now you are seeing that same thing.

"It happened before he was in the White House? Why the hell do I care again? It's Trump. The guy who cheated on his first wife with his current wife. How is this news? WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?"

I do believe the NDA will go away as it was not signed by Trump plus his own lawyer broke it already. Tge naled pictures of Trump with his tiny penis will be salacious and get in all the papers, there will ve campaign finance law violatiins, it will confirm what people who dislike him already believe but... I honestly do wonder if it will upset or deter any of his supporters.

I suspect some will drift away but only some. His numbers are currently in the 30's and I suspect they may drop into the 20's but most of his followers now live in a fact free parallel universe so there will be no reaching them.

Like with John Edwards it will be the campaign finance law breaking which gets him.

Her lawyer says up to 10 people have offered to put up a $1 million surety bond to protect her against an adverse ruling of breaking the NDA. He also says she's not considering taking any of them. This leads me to believe her story isn't all that great. I mean, what if she says he has a tiny little dick and can't get it up. Would anyone real be shocked, surprised...outraged? I doubt it. The "Make America Horny Again" tour will last only as long as the mystery.

If she's picking up a couple grand for a special appearance at a strip joint near you and some extra money in tips and selfie fees, that's probably more than she can make getting spooged on in a week.

I'm dubious that he'll ever be impeached for breaking campaign finance laws, no matter ho guilty he might be.

Well that's assuming he broke any. If what he did is no different than what any other politician has been caught "doing" than yeah it's highly unlikely he'd be impeached.

If it was just this one thing I would probably agree. I suspect Mueller will have a big long list though and this will be one item along with a whole lot of other money laundering, conspiracy, and obstruction of justice charges. The man is excellent at RICO cases and has brought a lot of organized crime groups down. This is nothing if not an organized crime group.

Unless Mueller takes down some high-level Republicans in the House and the Senate, I don't see Trump getting impeached by the Republicans.

well a big part of that answer is that the liberals hadn't built their whole political identity on Puritan legalism while the Evangelicals did exactly that.

The issue isn't sex it's hypocrisy.

True. But even so, it's worth keeping the eyes on the ball. And that is election fraud, corrupt oligarchs, collusion with dictators, and white supremacy. Whom Trump fucks and how is a mere distraction, quite possibly a deliberate one.

oh indeed. The Stormy weather is a fun little data point to bash the culture war Pharisees with but at worst it's a John Edwards type fuck up and not remotely as serious as what Mueller is finding

Yeah, for me it's an amusing distraction...especially watching the same evangelicals who wanted to run Bill Clinton out of town tying themselves in knots trying to explain their support for Trump. For Mueller, I hope it's not even on the radar screen.

    Same here.

People I know who loathed Clinton in large part because of his pecadillos still express unwavering support for Trump. :jayzus:

"Pastor" Bob Jeffress agreed with you, before he disagreed with you!

Recently Bobby has been on Fox to explain why evangelicals are fine with Trump banging pornstars because he's showing "strong leadership" and advancing their political agenda.

    https://crooksandliars.com/2018/03/jeffress-trumps-stormy-affair-irrelevant

Of course, back in 2008, he said that ignoring Christian principles just to get a political agenda pushed was wrong. But then, he was trying to keep "cult member" (his words) Mitt Romney out of office...

Matthew 4:1-11 New King James Version (NKJV)

4 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”

5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:

‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’

    and,

‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’”

7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”

8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”

10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you,Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”

11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

Well, in fairness to Evangelicals et al who appear hypocritical for supporting Trump--

Their choice was between four (including Stein and Johnson) immoral people, but only one of which promised to support them on pet issues like abortion.

No. The correct answer to the evangelical plight in 2016 was to sit the election out or just write in a person they like. But they didn't. They got right in bed with Trump, fondled his little pecker, and pissed on whatever he asked them to piss on. Because fuck rendering unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's. They want to BE Caesar.
