That was my first question. The facility is located in Vancouver, Washington. Not sure what the gun laws are in that state, but I would think any place that acted as an assisted living facility would not allow weapons.
probably had a family member bring it to him. Maybe he brought it in there himself when he initially started living there. Lots of ways he could have a gun.
