I will give @The Night Monkey credit for listening and realizing we are on the same page. That is cool.

Now we get to the @Dinner crazy ass bullshit storm. I don't think din din has the mental capacity of TNM. I have seen where trying to discuss anything with him ends. So fuck you dinner. You are wrong, you are a liar, and no one is harming children or forcing them into something they don't want except for you who is trying to stop them from doing what they know is right because you cannot handle it. Get a grip, nut the fuck up, and get over your shit.

To be fair @Dinner does seem to fluctuate in this regard, which very possibly is why people are so ready to label him an alcoholic because I get the impression he's quite far from being dumb.

He's got a good grasp on the likely outcome of elections I've noticed (although that isn't the same as saying I agree with him on the desirable outcome) but seems at times to get consumed by anger to the point of near incoherence.

He's not stupid, he's racist and a bigot, and so falls for all of the tropes and stereotypes that malign women, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community.

I try to only use those when I'm angry. With Dinner, I stopped being truly angry a long time ago, and now just have a kind of disappointment. He's fallen for the Peterson/Quillette/Redpill crowd, something many intelligent men fall for, because it feeds their belief that they are being deceived by a feminist agenda that holds the true power over men. Predators like Peterson, Milo Yiannopoulos, and Ben Shapiro, they prey on such people. They find their insecurities (it's not hard to find insecure young men) and profit off of them.

Also, they are not the hell your whales.

One bit I totally agreed on Chappelle with.

Words to the effect of, it's not Trump you should be worried about, it's the millions of people that agree with him, and voted for him.
The racist ideas he spouts aren't his own ideas, he's just playing poor white people's greatest hits.

Also, poor whites and poor blacks are exactly the same except for one difference.
Poor whites think it's not supposed to be happening to them.

Now trump is selling 10 cent chinese knockoff sharpies with his name on it for 10 dollars to cross out the truth with lies to own the libs. I know I feel owned not paying 100x the price of a off brand sharpie that will run out of juice in shipping. Here is hoping the next time chapelle does an autograph session for the deplorables he uses trump brand sharpies.

What about the decades where any program with a GLBT character was cancelled because it would make the right cry? What about the years where Sodomy and gay marriage was cancelled because of right wing opposition and involvement in our bedrooms? What about trhe right wing cancelling interracial marriage, education, and rights for black people?

Cancel culture is the right wing's bread and butter, along with being SJWs for jebus.

Everyone thought Ellen's career was over after she came out on her show. Pixar was the only place in Hollywood that would work with her after that and she got that part for Dory three years after ABC cancelled her show the next season for "ratings."

We couldn't even have gays in Rick Berman's Star Trek FFS!

Speaking as someone who loved her show and couldn't care less that she's gay, it just wasn't as funny after she came out.

I don't doubt that some people quit watching after they found out she was a lesbian, but the quality of the show went down too.

I was still in grade school when that episode aired. I'm sure I watched it live because my mom is one of those straight ppl who loves all things gay AF (she was the one that told me about Glee FFS! ) and I don't even remember anything else about the show to be honest.

But every sitcom apart from "Always Sunny" hits a brick in writing and they don't get all but blackballed from Hollywood over it. Even if the show itself was lame, the treaytrea she got after definitely spoke volumes.

They ruined the ellen show after she came out. I was a fan and enjoyed the humor a lot. After she came out everything had to do with her being a lesbian. They beat that horse to death really fast and then just kept on beating. They were accepting jokes, but someone let everything become about being a lesbian and the show was better than that. I don't think it was ellen who did that. I think it was more the producers.

Yeah, it was a risky time to come out, and it is a tribute to the awesomeness that is ellen that she was able to get to where she is now. Her comedy and talent was really great. I think her present location as a daytime talk show host is perfect for her. She was always pretty G rated, she is fun to watch, and she seems to do the fluffy interviews really well.

The show had two major shifts. The first was after the first season. Once they got by that and got a great supporting cast the show was just cruising along. She had her store, her group of friends, and her parents drove her nuts. She had a quirky little sitcom going on. Then the gay thing happened, and the show did not really need to change all that much. Still, They took everything else out and made it all about her being a lesbian. It just wasn't good. After she came out it should have just been called ellen is gay and nothing else is going on.

    I'm sorry.

I've thought about this a lot before this morning. How do you say "goodbye" and "I'm sorry" and "I love you" to all the beautiful souls you know? For the last time.

There's no good way. That's what I got out of all that thought.

To those of you who are mad at me: please forgive me. To those of you who wonder if you failed me: you didn't. To those of you feel like I failed you: I did and I'm sorry and I hope you'll remember me in better times and better light.

I love you all. I'm sorry. Please help my daughter, Naia, understand that none of this is her fault. Please remind her that I loved her with every fiber of my being.

    Daphne

I've had a lot of people tell me, and others, that we "need to lighten up" and learn to "take a joke" when we've complained about comedians like Dave Chappelle making fun of transgender women.

This woman is *specifically* the trans woman Dave Chappelle is referring to. She ended her life yesterday.

Being transgender in America is fucking hard. I don't think many cisgender people really get that. This isn't hyperbole. It's. Fucking. Hard.

While many may think it is perfectly acceptable for transgender people to be a punch line, just as many believe it's acceptable for transgender people to be a literal punching bag.

Transgender people *finally* get their day at the Supreme Court this week to demonstrate that it should NOT be legal to fire us for just being trans and even our own "liberal" judge, Sotomayor, starts in about fucking bathrooms. Like what does pissing have to do with anything?

In practice it's legal to fire us, keep us out of homeless shelters, deny us housing, public accommodation, and health care for "religious reasons".

Bigots and religious conservatives want us poor, homeless, and dead and they encourage everyone to treat us like shit. It's no wonder our suicide rate is so damn high.

If you're black AND a trans woman, forget about it. On a good day you might get lip service from an aspiring politician, but for the most part, in this country, you're screwed.

So do me a favor and remember Daphne and the other trans people like her that just couldn't take it any longer. I'm sure she was strong and courageous, but after a while, even the bravest and strongest get tired of fighting.

Go fuck a cactus, you tripe little cuntrag. :jayzus:

This is what happens when the oppressive majority has been allowed to control the narrative and why the mentality so many minorities (of all stripes, but most increasingly in Tumblr's young queer community that have taken on TERF idealogy) take to become more "normal" for acceptance doesn't goddamn work. Because in chasing down normality, shit gets watered down to the pulp for the lowest common denominator to say "Well this isn't so bad, why are you mad?" Blacks have chased acceptance via respectability politics for longer than I've been alive. I hope the gays will do what they did re: separate but equal marriage and ditch that without the gay equivalent to Bill Cosby being outed as a con to force the issue.

All these people saying that certain groups are "too sensitive" are just dismissing the abuse that certain groups always get while these same people face absolutely none that can even be compared to what other's face. Then when they do finally hit by something that does hurt them, they strike back harder. What LGBTQ people in the US deal with, especially trans people, is horrific on every level and the fact that there aren't more suicides shows just how strong they've had to become just to live day to day. Trans people's right to be able to function in society is up for debate after being turned into a political issue. Every other time in history, we look back on it in shame. But we forget or act like this group is different because reasons.

One day, not soon enough though, this will be history that we try to forget too. Then like every other group that faces abuse they'll be told by the majority to just get over it. All by the same exact people who abused them. They just can't ever face that they were wrong.

The straw that broke this person's back does not seem to be the abuse she got from the bigots. It seems that she was harassed by trans people because she laughed at a david chapelle joke. It was probably a lot worse to have a bunch of trans people turn on you and start telling you you are not trans enough and pick you apart over a bunch of cis people you expect it from.

Someone probably should have warned her that those people would come for her for having the nerve to have a sense of humor about herself and put herself out there in front. She should have embraced the villain they were going to make her out to be. Of all people chapelle should have known that and warned her.

Yeah thanks, that’s an argument I’ve made myself here on this board to losers like TLS

However Nova refers to and even bolds:

This woman is *specifically* the trans woman Dave Chappelle is referring to. She ended her life yesterday.

But it seems she actually defended him and even opened for one of his shows

Tererun even mentions that she was bullied by other trans people

Maybe I’m missing something here but I’m not seeing the connection that’s trying to be made
