Just a small point here @Dinner , could you hold on to your present good attitude and perhaps not be so negative about your environment?

Another Democrat is thinking of joining in the run for POTUS

Former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick weighs potential late 2020 presidential bid: Sources

Deval Patrick, the politician who made history as Massachusetts' first black governor, is eyeing a potential late bid for the Democratic presidential nomination, according to two Democratic Party sources.

    https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/mas...-weighs-potential-late-2020/story?id=66925041

Kinda shows how Democrats think the ones currently running are so weak that they think they can jump in now and still win the nomination.

It won't change a thing. The Berners would vote for him if he suddenly declared he was for making everyone worship the Great Green Arkleseizure, and everybody else got sick of him and tuned out months ago.

Democrats, as in the actual voters who make up the Democratic party, are perfectly happy with the field as is.

And I'm pretty sure none of those voters have been saying "Hey, you know what I really want? A guy who works for Bain Capital."

quick question - how can the gub'mint "buy back" your gun if they weren't the ones who sold it to you? Wouldn't the sales clerk at Cabela's have to come to your house and buy it back?

Biden did as well, before backtracking and saying he'd favor "voluntary buybacks," which is a very amusing concept.

And in the stopped clock category: I actually agree with Bernie Sanders on something.

So, the "back" part is definitely a lie.

And can you really say you're buying something if the seller must agree to your terms or face imprisonment?

Sanford's out. Trump's not going to get any significant challenge within the GOP.

Hillary Clinton continued to stir speculation on Tuesday that she could make a late entry into the 2020 Democratic presidential primary, saying “many, many, many people” are pressuring her to consider a third run for the White House.

The former secretary of state said during an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live that she hasn't ruled out joining the already-crowded Democratic fray looking to be the nominee to challenge President Trump in next year’s general election.

“I, as I say, never, never, never say never,” Clinton said. “I will certainly tell you, I’m under enormous pressure from many, many, many people to think about it.

Seriously, though, I had a feeling the moment he did that his fate was sealed. You know I hate guns, personally, because I know what they can do. I think every person has the right to say "I don't want to own a gun," or "I don't want to use a gun." The thing is, everyone has the right to own a gun. It could be argued that it only matters if you're in a well regulated militia, but it's likely we'll never know for sure. That being said, a presidential candidate tells me they're coming for my guns, or in this case your guns, and I'm going to be against that. It doesn't matter how much I dislike guns, you have a right to have them. Just like it's my right to have strong, dissenting views against the current government, and to speak those views openly. If you're not using that right to murder people, and I'm not using my language to oppress others, or to openly advocate someone into taking oppressive action (like murdering people for being black or Jewish), then no one gets to take those rights away. They're rights, not privileges. They exist whether or not the government exists.

It's funny that when he finally got a backbone to say something, it was the dumbest thing he could have possibly said as someone trying to appeal to moderates.

    Exactly.
There's a tiny segment of wealthy connected Dems who've lost confidence that Biden can hold off Warren and recognize that Pete has no resume and are panicking - and that layered upon the quadrennial tradition of Dems panicking about the field. Every one of these stories simply reinforces Warren's brand (and to an extent Bernie's but they don't talk about him much because no one outside his tribe thinks he can actually win)

"The Democratic candidates who have prevailed in battleground contests since 2016 didn't embrace pie-in-the-sky policy ideas or propose a smorgasbord of new entitlements. They didn't talk constantly about providing a guaranteed basic income. Or promising to make college free. Or eliminating private insurance and replacing it with a government-run health care system. Or giving $250 more each month in Social Security benefits. Or enacting the 'Green New Deal.' Or calling for the immediate and abrupt end of fossil fuels. Or vowing to seize guns from people's homes....
"...Inexplicably, the men and women who want to be our party's standard-bearer seem to be ignoring the unambiguous message voters are sending—and that should concern anyone who wants to defeat Trump in 2020."

What a chicken shit. If the Democrats fail, it will be because they chose to play also-ran to moderate Republicans who have no need of them whatsoever. Trump promised sweeping changes, to make America great. Now, he was clearly full of shit, but his rhetoric struck a chord. People were tired of the same milquetoast policy promises that always ended up on the cutting room floor when the time came to meet lobbyist obligations. The Dems take for granted that the left wing will vote for them because the alternative is Donald Trump for four more years. People like Emmanuel can only see short term political gain, and not the long term effects of ignoring very real issues with both climate, and access to medical care for the poor.

It's not about conspiracy theories, it's about finding out how much Saudi's were involved in 9/11. The Huffington Post is full of shit. It's another smear campaign.

    From your own article.

    Again, from your own article.

Why would Congress pass such a bill if there's nothing there?

You're being duped by the MSM.

On this point I agree. Part of the reason Trump won was because he was something different from the usual cookie cutter candidate that the people have been seeing election after election. They wanted something different so much that they were willing to look past horrible character flaws that would have sank candidates in the past. And running on "I'm not Trump" was a failed strategy before and I think it would fail if they try it again. The people already know that you are not Trump. Be the best YOU. If they want to take a page from any past campaign it should be Obama. In 2008 Obama was also something different, but he came across as likable, intelligent and wasn't offensive. Plus having a background as a community organizer came in handy when turning out the vote. If the Dems don't take any states for granted and really get out the vote, they will win.
