Trump is too quiet. I'm figuring they have him sedated and the social media team tries to emulate his childlike tweeting style.

I wonder how this will play out. The biggest loss imaginable by somebody who cannot lose because of his narcissism. This is gonna be an interesting transition period. I just hope they have already replaced his big red button with one that blinks and makes funny noises. No, seriously. I really don't see how any kind of orderly transition could be possible. Trump will use his remaining time to create as much chaos as possible - and there is no adult left to put him in his place. Biden, if he seals the deal, will literally inherit a steaming pile of rubble there once were serious policies, foreign policy, alliances, trade, finances...

I do wonder if Trump will even stoop to start a little war as parting gift. Iran? Or would saner minds stop him? Who could be that sane mind since he fired all of them?

 Ok. I'll trust you. but, yesterday when I checked, the gap was less than 5,000 - I remember because it was less than the gap when everyone was watching Michigan. Now the gap is like 67,000.

The gap was about 100,000 yesterday. There were three major results releases. The one from Tuesday night (which showed about 100,000 in favor of Biden) and then two different ones last night (7:00 pm and 11:30 pm). Each of the ones from last night showed Biden's lead cut by a small amount and the 11:30 one is the one you can see when you look at results now.

As of 11:30 last night, there were (supposedly) still over 400,000 ballots to count, and the ratio of the ballots they were counting seemed to be about 2:1 to 3:1 in Trump's favor. If that trend followed for the counting of all those ballots, then Trump would take Arizona.

Again, I don't expect Trump to take Arizona, but it's plausible mathematically.

Yea, well, they have Blitzer and John King. Neither of them seems to have slept since Tuesday and they still look quite excited. I also tried FOX to counter all the extreme Marxist/Leninist propaganda and get some patriotic fireworks, sulfur and brimstone and Marshmellows. But they only had some women languidly repeating what we already know.

Our SOE office has a large see thru glass window that separates the poll workers from the public. It allows everyone to see what is going on while keeping them out of the way and not interfering with the process.

Is that why the federal DOJ is sending armed officers into ballot counting centers?

Did they? The New York Times map says Florida ia 96% counted. I would guess there are plenty of states where counting is still going on; it's just that in those states, there is no mathematical chance for the results in any national race to change.

Exactly. A permanent Republican majority in the Senate -- which is what it's starting to look like -- will mean that during Republican administrations the country lurches sharply to the right, and during Democratic administrations, we just ... stay still. Not just legislatively, but in terms of letting court vacancies pile up for the next Republican president to fill.

the Brits are not Americans. A lot will "vote with their guns" and short of that, if - for example - Washington State can secede from the US then Eastern Washington will have a solid argument for seceding from Washington. At least in places where the geography works

Asshole has already said that he gets to pick Biden's cabinet.

The Georgia races in the runoffs could not be more important.

Let's be clear, the conservative worldview for the last 150+ years has been "people who don't vote with us ought not be allowed to vote"

Sen. Toomey (R) just said it: Trump has a problem with women (orly) and the highly educated.

Meaning he appeals only to idiots.

It's nice American conservatives are starting to see what the rest of the world has known for about 25 years.

Look at divided government in the past, even the last 2 years. Laws do get passed, but they have to be relatively bipartisan.

Incorrect. Election law is one of the few areas that Congress is explicitly empowered to alter and amend state law.

Between his lack of fucks about the two seventh fleet collisions, the SEAL chief whose conviction he overturned and forced back into the Navy and the way Capt Crozier was treated at the start of the coronavirus, the military should be.

Oddly, despite the whole one tweet Trump ever gave about the Fitzgerald collision between bashing Comey,.he's still got a number of fans amongst my former shipmates. Most of those morons I've unfriended or blocked long ago but it's baffling that anyone who ever served on that ship or the McCain would ever support this asshole.

At least no ship will forced to cover it's name when Biden takes a base tour.
