Well that's interesting I had always assumed the first time Obi Wan ran into Anakin as Darth Vader was on the Death Star
Can’t find the thread about other SW series so putting this here. The Mandalorian's Ahsoka Tano and New Republic Will Receive Their Own Spinoffs
Disney’s all over new SW series today. Lando Calrissian Limited Series in Development at Disney Plus From Justin Simien
SW movies- -Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (by Patty Jenkins) -Untitled Taika Waititi SW film. SW shows- -Andor (Cassian Andor prequel) -Obi-Wan Kenobi -The Rangers of the New Republic (Mando spinoff) -Ahsoka (ditto) -Lando (presumably spun off from "Solo") -The Acolyte (the Leslie Headlund female based series we heard about ages ago. Set in the High Republic era) -The Bad Batch (Clone Wars spinoff) -Star Wars: Visions (anthology show) -A Droid Story (animated R2 & 3PO spinoff) Source. https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/disney-plus-star-wars-marvel-pixar-series-1234850947/
If they were crammed into one year, but I have a feeling they'll be spread out over at least 3. It'll be fine. I'm only pissed you have to have Disney+ for this shit. It's never gonna be on disk. If Mando season 1 were coming, it would have by now.
It'll come eventually. They're trying to build their streaming service before offering it on physical media. CBS didn't release Discovery S1 until 14 months after it premiered. I haven't bought individual seasons of a show since BSG was doing it years ago. I'd rather wait until the show's over and then buy the whole series in a boxed set, which usually contains more extras than individual seasons.
I think you're getting confused with the Star Trek movies. An easy mistake because JJ Abrams brilliantly directed both.
SW movies- -Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (by Patty Jenkins) I'd rather see this as a series. SAAB like. At least recasting Wedge has been done once already... -Untitled Taika Waititi SW film. Cool SW shows- -Andor (Cassian Andor prequel)- meh -Obi-Wan Kenobi- it's a one season shot, right? I'd guess concurrent story/reflecting narrative which they can spin off into a season or three of a Vader series (he's about 40 now, so the right age). -The Rangers of the New Republic (Mando spinoff)-I'd like to see this blend in with Rogue Squadron as a show. Guessing it's gonna be more space western -Ahsoka (ditto)- this at least we know what we're in for, and then some -Lando (presumably spun off from "Solo")-Part of me wants to see this become a serious gangster show and have Lando go all dark side -The Acolyte (the Leslie Headlund female based series we heard about ages ago. Set in the High Republic era)-I have no idea what to expect from this. I kind of wanna see Asaaj get a series though, and the night sisters would be a cool counter punch to Themyscira -The Bad Batch (Clone Wars spinoff)- I'll watch it if it's not exactly suitable for kids. -Star Wars: Visions (anthology show)- should be safe. probably would be best to start here with a sample of each series and test them that way. -A Droid Story (animated R2 & 3PO spinoff)-
More Baby Yoda. I know my tits are itching for that dead horse beating. Can we just combine all this intoi one giant movie called Mandalorian: Endgame of Thrones?
Having Darth Vader show up in the Obi Wan series makes zero sense. Also, Hayden Christensen can suck a dick. Worst. Anakin. Ever. Really not liking the fact that Disney is entrenching the prequel films into the contemporary Star Wars universe. Those films and the stupidity they created should be left in the dust bin of history. But I guess the dumbass kids who grew up in the late 1990s and early 2000s and actually thought the prequels were just swell are Disney's target audience now.
As one of those dumbass kids, I will say that what Disney has done with the franchise is no better than the prequels. Its trilogy was a disaster for the canon as well as moviemaking generally, and all the miscellaneous installments like Rogue One were boring. Mando is the only success so far. And entrenching the prequel-era elements into contemporary Star Wars? That ship sailed before Disney took over, in various TV shows, videogames, etc.
Now hang on Disney owns ESPN ESPN likes to ignore actual sports in favor of poker Where are the sabacc tournaments??
I mean, she was decent in Malcolm in the Middle and Heroes, but it's interesting they are casting her to play Darth Vader. Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favor of gender twists like this, but I'd rather have someone more imposing as Darth Vader, like Gwendoline Christie or Allison Janney.
I really liked the Cara Dune character, until I found out what a whackjob Gina Carano is in real life. Now I just can't take her seriously when I see her onscreen. Hopefully they kill the character off and she doesn't get a role in the New Republic series. There's apparently a social media trend on firing Gina Carano.
Hopefully, she's killed by a shapeshifter like the one in "Attack Of The Clones". Y'know, cuz they're gender-fluid, and Gina hates that shit.
Ope, dunno how this one slipped by me. Rogue Squadron...trailer? Probably woulda had more oomph if we didn't know about Patty Jenkins going in.
