Hopefully the review is more stringent than 9/11. As far as I know, no one was really taken to task internally for any failures in that. Whereas it seems at a minimum, there were vongresspeople who unwittingly inspired some of these seditionists and at worst there were some that actively collaborated with them.

Pulpit and Pen is extremely toxic and some of the worst of the so called “discernment blogs.”

Everyone I know rejects them whole cloth.

 

And, for the record, speaking out against Christian Nationalism over the last two years was cited as the primary reason for my termination at my Church. Tomorrow will be my last Sunday.

This is why I despair for the church, when they hear a message that affirms their Christian/White nationalist heresy, they elevate it - when they hear one that says"Do we really?" they flee.

Jesus warned there would be tares among the wheat. He warned there would be seemingly good seed who are choked by the thorns of the world. He warned there would be entire communities who would refuse the Gospel. We aren't expected to get everyone, and we aren't expected to have a perfect record with those who do enter the church.

And God will allow the false believers to expose themselves, so they will be known by their fruits. Maybe that's what's been happening, four-plus years of winnowing and putting the church to the test so that dross may be consumed or expelled. And in the end, God will make the truth available with or without the church's help, and accomplish His aims with or without the church's help.

That's what I comfort myself with in times like this.

 

At least they were honest enough not to make up some excuse. This way, they show clearly who they are.

Don't shut up. I know there aren't nearly enough American preachers like you, but if there is to be any hope, those who understand the issues the way you do need to be heard. And there are still churches that are willing to hear that message.
