He's giving political advice based around an area that requires medical expertise.
Last time I checked, he wasn't a biologist or geneticist.
Neither are the hacks he has on like Jordan Peterson.

I've watched a lot of Joe Rogan's podcast over the years and not once has he given political advice.

:garamet: Goodman and Miller were more big band/swing than jazz. Great musicians, but not considered significant among most jazz musicians or fans.
That said yes there a few truly gifted white jazz icons, but it's a tiny percentage of the total. It's kind of like the NBA in that regard.

I'd offer Jools Holland for white jazz, but his band is the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra so perhaps he fits more in that mold.

you don't know what you're missing. I could provide a list of jazz songs that are very accessible and relatable to people that don't think they would ever like jazz, because they've never been exposed to the "real deal" before. Not all jazz is instrumental, there a few jazz vocalists that I enjoy in small doses.

Jools is very talented - that's Jools playing piano on the Clash hit "Rock The Casbah" matter-of-fact.

Are you suggesting that it would be humorous to you fir me to to something so stupid as to lose my job, in the same thread in which people are arguing that the actress should have kept her job for doing something stupid?

You're the one that was wondering about it. Regardless the reality is any time you represent your employer you roll the dice depending on their policy, which I'm sure we all know whether we like it or not.

It wasn’t me wondering. It was a statement. A private employer made a decision. Period. One can be free from discrimination for race, creed, gender, and sexual affiliation, but not from making stupid statements that your boss doesn’t like.

In most cases, but what about if you can prove that the reason your boss didn't like your statement is because of your race, gender, etc? :chris: If the boss is a white straight male and you are not, that could be your "out" and get you off the hook. Side note I'm not a lawyer, but I think I'd make a good one. :D

    Stupidity is so exhausting. :sigh:

If you whip up your audience to vote for that shit, and/or vote for the kind of motherfuckers that write that shit, your hands aren't clean if you didn't actually write the shit.

You're using the same logic that says "Trump didn't whip up the January 6th mob because he said 'safely'. Oh, sure, Rudy said 'mortal combat' and then Trump said 'isn't Rudy great?' but y'know, he said 'safely' so he's on gools".

No, fuck you, Trump whipped up the mob, and Rogan whips up the bigots in his audience.
Both of them know what they're fucking doing.

I'm sure you can provide quotes of Joe Rogan whipping up his audience with anti-trans athlete rhetoric and I don't mean what he said that anyone who doesn't live in your fantasy left wing echo chamber would consider a reasonable position.

Complaining about hip hop and gangsta rap lyrics while being a fan of rock and metal classics which promote drug use, rape, violence, and excess strikes me as being racist. Ted Nugent is as violent and rapey as any gangsta rapper. GnR, Metallica, and a ton of other popular glam rock and heavy metal are violent and rapey. The angry frat boy rock of the 2000s is just violent lyrics to heavy riffs. If you are going to tell me Tupac is horrible while you are loving down with the sickness, you are a fucking racist.

You want to talk about people who killed the quality of music let us talk about Nirvana, Pearl cram, and the whole fucking grunge movement. I could play their fucking music. It took all the talent out of the guitar and put it into some power chords to so much distortion you can be terrible and still make a song. Country western had more talent in achy breaky heart than the whole world of grunge. But, people bought it and it became a thing.

That is what it is all about. Who cares about critical quality when you sell millions of albums with a simple melody and some dumb ass lyrics. Even I can enjoy Red Solo Cup, but that shit is easily produced with a simple hook everyone likes.

Why are you dragging me into this? I've said very little about Rogan simply because I don't listen to him. What I have heard about him doesn't impress me much but that's neither here nor there since I don't talk about him often, if at all.

The only reason that I can think of for you trying to drag me into a discussion about Rogan is that you're unable to mount a defense for him, so you're hoping that I'll take the bait and somehow say something that will enable you to do a "gotcha" moment. The problem with that idea, of course, is that you're incapable of forming a cogent argument about anything. You just scream, "It's bad!" ala George HW Bush and link to a tediously long YouTube video with no explanation of why anyone should give even half a shit of who that person is or what they have to say. Seriously, dude, you need to do some self-reflection because you're sliding into Dayton/oldfella territory with your schtick.
