Up until a couple of years ago i was strictly a beer guy...
There are some good Dutch beers like Hertog Jan and Grolsch and plenty of German, Belgian and French beers like Leffe and La Trappe or Hoegaarden...
Then i on summer, 6 years ago, i discoverd cider, a cold one on a summer sunday is very nice, but they are sneaky...
3 years ago i tried whisky-cola and i liked that as well...
In fact i'm almost done with my third one this saturday evening...
Grant's blended whisky, though i could've gone with the Glen Talloch that's also in my cupboard...
The Famous Grouse is also nice...

    Whatever is offered.

Scotch over ice mostly since I'm lazy.

    Gintonic if I'm feeling festive.

Texas margaritas over ice if I'm eating Mexican.

    Hot sake with sushi.

Try whiskey and ginger ale. That was my preference back in the day. For an american slant, Jack Daniels whiskey.

Ginger beer is mighty good too. With lime over ice.

Can’t drink beer anymore it makes me feel like shit and super bloated

Vodka sodas, red wine and negronis are my weapons of choice these days and occasionally some really nice top shelf smooth tequila

Red wine, usually from a trip every couple of months to a local wine region where we'll pick up some cases.

Beer. Typically from the Coopers range if I'm after value for money, or a local craft brewery like Little Bang if I want something fancy. If going Coopers I'm generally a Pale or Sparkling drinker depending on the situation. Sparkling is tastier, but a few of them will knock you on your ass. Been getting into their Dark Ale lately, since it tastes a lot bigger than it actually is.

Gin. Don't generally drink it much at home, but on a hot day a gin and tonic goes down very well. Also extremely partial to gin straight over ice, especially something infused like a Shiraz Gin.

Whiskey, I generally never drink it at home, but when out at a nice bar will often just ask the bartender for the smokiest peatiest one they have.

Bourbon. Buffalo Trace, ideally. Fighting Cock's not bad, and tastes just like the expensive version of Four Roses, but costs a lot less.

Lately, my go to has been, one part frozen lime-aid mix, a shot or so of tequila, mixed with 4-5 parts of cold carbonated water (any flavor works for me) and a wedge of lime.

If it's been a hot day outside and I've been outside, one part frozen lime-aid, 5-6 parts beer, usually a lager in a salt rimmed glass.

IPA beers, I'll usually try something new if I can,

Rum shots with a Dr. Pepper chaser or rum and coke, depending on which I have in the house.

I drink a lot of tequila. Mostly margaritas and mostly on the rocks, though I won't turn down a frozen one as long as the mixer isn't too sweet.

After that, whiskey cocktails closely followed by gin cocktails. A New York Sour is my current bourbon/rye-based cocktail of choice and a Bramble is my go-to gin cocktail.

For beer I prefer ales, both dark and pale, though I'm not a huge fan of India Pale Ales because they've overstayed their welcome. To paraphrase @Spaceturkey's comments on beards, loving IPAs is the padded bra of beer snobbery. :dendroica:

I like wine with meals but I rarely drink much of it on its own.

You might like a godfather cocktail which is equal parts bourbon and Amaretto, with a dash of bitters. As for IPAs, this guy said it best: Stop pretending to like IPAs

I've moderated myself over the years, both in quantity and quality. For instance, I don't think I've had a single drink this year. I've also found that bourbon, my perennial drink of choice, now gives me nightmarish heartburn. So, I only keep a few bottles around the house. I keep a cheap, dark spiced rum called Kraken for mixing with coke. I also keep Crown Royal Regal Apple for mixing with sprite. Finally, I keep Patron Silver and a bottle of Triple Sec for my true weakness, a real margarita on the rocks. I also have a single bottle of Johnny Walker Black for guests who don't want anything else I have. It's currently unopened.

I used to like sweetened drinks like Mikes Hard lemonade and Hard Apple Cider. Before that, it was whiskey and coke. But, since I've bloated up as much as I have and attempting to lose weight, I mostly stick with vodka and seltzer water.

    Single malt scotch, neat.
For beer I like Guinness or Sam Adams Oktoberfest.
Jack Daniels every now and then.

Lately I've been eschewing alcohol in favour of quaffing Wordforge posts from the likes of @oldfella1962 and @The Ghost of Crazy Horse.

After reading six or seven of their largely incoherent missives, I've found it has the same effect as knocking back several double scotches.
