You would probably be amazed at how much variation there is among "Bible folk" where flexibility is concerned, on just about every subject. You maybe ought to be a little careful with that broad brush...
Oh, I'm well aware how bendy religious folk can be on any topic under the sun, until you run up against one they won't budge on. Sadly, those are usually the topics that hurt others. And don't pretend there aren't enough like that that you don't need a roller to apply the paint. I'm not saying it's #AllReligiousFolk but #TooDamnedManyReligiousFolk.
I had not thought of that, but that is another way many of them are sad. I will have to note I have met some who have taken the idea that christ is all loving to recognize the man made church was wrong on the aspects of hate.
I think I can say with confidence that @matthunter is well aware of the existence of some decent bible folk. Or maybe it should be that there are jesus folk among the bible folk. The bible being a flawed and fictitious creation of man and all, and jesus being an idea of a all loving entity that wishes to save us from ourselves.
I assume that exact phrase is in the bible somewhere, but I'm not digging through it to find out. Maybe one of you experts can weigh in.
Here's a review from a related product. (frankenstein and mure anointing oil). Are these people for real? Do they exist?
Also, where's the nutritional information on those. I thought that was required on all food products. Yeah, give me a pound of sliced jesus to go with the hi-c.
There was an eccentric gentleman who patronized the supermarket I worked at. He insisted on a specific brand of bottled water (Dasani?) and no other. He told me he had bought a different brand once, and it was so disgusting that he and his wife both threw up. I'm sure if it had been a religious item he would have drawn deep morals from his experience. Some people are just . . .
you mothers keep stealing my jokes! I wish wordforge wasn't "read only" from my work computer. No, I can't adjust any security features/filters.
Oh sweet Jesus... My buddy and I used to have a standing Every Other Thursday dinner/hangout. Last night was the first one back. It was... not good. It was bad. Someone poisoned the Hornitos. At all three bars. Oh fuck. It has definitely been a while. Fuck.
Clerks at the local grocery store didn't have masks on today. Next week, work will go to optional masks. We'll still have the screening station.
I'm told we have to go back to the office 7/6. It's very irritating. It should be optional. I don't want to go back to the office. I know some people do and are tired of sitting at home all day every day. But, I seriously would rather just stay home and work. There's absolutely no reason for me to be back in the office.
Yup, our supermarket staff is maskless now (the in-house pharmacy has the vax, so one may assume they jabbed the whole staff).
I agree! None of the positions at my work are "work from home" but IMHO if employees can do their jobs from home, then it just makes sense to continue working from home. Less cars on the road, and fewer people in the stores when I'm getting off work because people can shop during the day. Since working from home was forced on a lot of people they learned to adapt, so we might as well turn the experience into a positive if we can, wherever possible.
A friend's wife works for Bloomberg in Manhattan. Had to get up in the wee hours to take the bus or train in, and got home at something like 7PM - basically 12 hours out of every day shot. She's been working from home for over a year, and it's made no negative impact on her job whatsoever. Her boss gave her the option to work from home forever, and she's takin' it!
Splurged for my birthday Friday. Drove up to the comic shop, where the proprietor was maskless for the first time. He said he was vaxxed, I said I was vaxxed, he said the state of NJ says two vaxxed people don't need to be masked, and I happily took the damn thing off while I was there. Never got closer to him than across the counter, just in case Then stopped at the local Market Basket for a box of their fantastic home-made (well, store-made) cookies. Everyone in the market was masked, so I remained so. Then walked over to the barber shop for my first haircut in over 1.5 years. The sign said the barbers were all vaxxed, so I asked the hot biker-chick barber if I should lose the mask so she could clip me better. She said I could if I want, and she'd leave hers on 'cause she figures people would be more comfortable when she's working so close. So I doffed the mask for the second time in 18 months.
I’m a little more lax about mask wearing than I used to be. If the store’s not crowded then I generally don’t wear one. I’ve read that the mask wearing appears to have killed off two strains of the flu virus and that this will make it easier to develop better flu vaccines. I’m wondering if there’s a connection with the lockdowns last year and the fact that I have yet to get bitten by a mosquito (or even heard one) this year.
There are many factors in the whole "work from home" thing. Not the least of which is real estate. A company in Birmingham finished a 160 million dollar office building two months before COVID sent everyone home. Do you think they're going to let that building sit empty? Nope. Everyone back to the office. On the other hand, if a company was towards the end of their lease, a lot of them are choosing to let people work from home and save on the facilities cost. A friend of mine is going to work for the State at the end of this month. He's got to have someone drive him to Montgomery on his first day because he's going to do all of the HR paperwork and then they are going to issued him a State Tahoe. Then he'll go home and meet a contractor. They are going to turn his home office into a real office. Rewiring, a dedicated internet connection, multi-line telephones, fax lines, desk, computers, printers, filing cabinets, the whole nine yards. He'll even get a line item in his pay to offset the increased electrical costs. It's cheaper than renting office space.
If I remember, I take my mask with me. The problem is that I seldom leave my apartment, so I forget to take it next time. But, I’ve had both shots and it was longer than 2 weeks ago.
I live in a county that's chock full of idiots (and idiot politicians) who think the virus is a hoax, so despite any state mandates, I haven't been in a business that was more than 65 to 80 percent masked since this all started. I've been wearing a mask (or was before I was fully vaccinated), but pretty much everywhere I've done any business has been business as usual. I've been getting hair cuts, going shopping...pretty much everything. So when I hear stories from places that take it more seriously, I'm like, "Really?". At any rate, the office is opening back up fully after labor day, so that will be exciting.
My hair grows too fast to wait until it’s safe. I mean … I could cut it myself. Or shave my head bald. I haven’t decided yet.
