Those complaints are not surprising, when you consider the fact that less than 50% of Americans have a passport. And I'm going to bet that even the ones that do are generally fucking clueless about other cultures.
Don't be a dick. Thomas Cook (now out of business) is a UK travel agent. Most of their customers would be brits. "custard biscuits" should have been a clue.
Hi. Have we met? We had Thomas Cook offices here in Canada so I just assumed they were a global operation. Plus, American tourists suck.
Well, the UK is outta the EU now, so the rest of Europe can go kick out the expats who whine that Spain and France aren't British enough for them
Cry more. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-britain-tourism-1-idUSL2273073120070523 This one surprised me.
I knew tipping would come up - Americans are hardwired for it (which is odd as they used to consider it anti-democratic and a holdover of the master-serf relationship: Twain famously refused to tip) but Brits would rather the business paid a decent wage or just put the service charge on the bill.
Bullshit survey is bullshit. Don't ask the fucking hoteliers; ask the non-hospitality folks who actually live in the country being visited. (Most hoteliers are generally from out of the country anyway as the big hotel chains move people around.) Talk to any non-American or non-Japanese person and they will say the exact opposite of what the survey says.
Who else would know? I'm just outside of Chicago, Six Flags Great America is right just up the street, Bristol Renaissance Faire is right around the corner. I grew up in a high tourist area of Irish Hills Michigan. I wouldn't have a clue which nationality most of the tourists are, let alone which ones are "better".
I saw 10 as a really fat southerner who really likes biscuits so they call donuts biscuits. I know the brits would do it too, but I was thinking something along the lines of honey boo boo talk.
Speaking of which... Sunday, older son made chicken sandwiches for dinner. I mean, like he bought chicken breasts, pounded them down to ... bitable thinness, etc ... Today, there's still two halves of a chicken breast left over. So, as I'm heating that up in the oven, I'm looking for my bread which I'm out of because I've been in Omaha for a month and can't be arsed to go to the grocery store on my own yet, but there are some little flour tostada tortillas. Older son also makes his own ranch dressing for his salads. Also, older son can't be arsed to put shit away until after he eats and leaves the entire kitchen a mess, so there's still sliced tomatoes still sitting on the counter which I diced up. So, I had homemade pan-fried, breaded chicken breasts, ranch dressing, and diced tomatoes on flour tostadas. It was pretty good.
If you have 4 quarter-pounder burgers, you haven't got a 1lb burger. You may have diabetes, but that's another matter.
It would. But, they had previously been cut in half and I didn't know if those two halves were together or two different halves from two different breasts.
