The bolded part is my emphasis, it's all I'm saying. And here's why. Parents are being railroaded by Transgender activists and their ideology. https://www.city-journal.org/child-custody-gender-gauntlet
I feel sorry for Drew. I've known transgender kids both with and without parents who were supportive of their journey, and the difference parental understanding makes in their lives is huge. She's lucky she has a supportive mother. Incidentally, it's very telling that the author refers to this as "Ted's story," centering the parent who can't accept his daughter's identity, instead of the child whose life is at stake.
"Anyone who has any personal experience that is different from mine cannot possibly be objective. I, the cisgender, heterosexual white male, am the paragon of perfect objectivity, and all experiences should be measured relative to mine."
Have you given any thought to ending your own life today? There's a lot of interesting points to be made for both sides of the argument. For example, does the human body really need all that blood? Aren't you interested in discussing it?
Why won't you debate me here? Why do you insist on refusing to debate your alleged "need" for blood? It's almost like you don't appreciate things you require essential to your continued existence being up for debate, which is such an unreasonable position to take.
You don't even see how you're being manipulated by the author here. So pathetic. Where's the fact, not the opinion, that this was happening all at once? It's worded carefully to imply without stating that when Christine left that this was the first Ted was hearing on the topic. But it doesn't actually say that. Everything else in the story is also completely compatible with the child having told their parents before for years and Ted simply ignoring or disbelieving it. The mutable ones aren't consistent, which is one of the diagnostic criteria. The rest is, well, duh? I can't describe the "red" quale (TIL that's the singular of "qualia") without reference to other colors or things that are red, but you're pretty sure I experience it, right? You know you're a man, right (or do you not, and this whole thing is causing you existential dread that you fucked up by not transitioning earlier)? If you were born with a third arm, you'd know you were only supposed to have two, right? Are family court judges supposed to disclose to parents that they don't beat their kids too? Jesus.
Your source is a conservative thinktank trying to gin up a shitty father. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_Journal There is nothing honest about this story from that source. You are trying to help a father abuse his child in a divorce proceeding to get back at the wife because he is deadbeat. You are fighting for abusers. You are trying to torture a child you know nothing about while claiming you are looking out for their best interests. You have never seen or talked to this child, yet you assume they are hurting them because the deadbeat dad says so in divorce proceedings? This is your great evidence that there are so many kids being forced into trans lifestyles. You are a shitty liar and your sources suck. You should be ashamed. You are a trump level intellect.
Because of course a conservative narrative has to be about the white hetero cis guy. If these assholes covered Harriet Tubman, they'd interview the slave owner blubbering about all the crops not being picked.
If you do decide to kick the breathing habit pick me as your sponsor. I love when pathetic fucks blame me for their demise. It makes me feel all warm inside and it has the added side effect of traumatizing @Ten Lubak so you would really be helping out.
I do remember back in the Obama years when AL had a crack down on migrant workers. There was a lot of bitching about things rotting on the vines. So you are very right.
Publisher doesn’t really matter here, since Shrier wrote it, although it is worth noting that this is just the publication of a think tank, not a news source.
No reputable source is going to publish that sort of piece, and think tanks are just out there to cherry pick bullshit pieces to support their points. There is no purpose in even bothering with such corrupted sources. Think tank is code word for infomercial.
Bill Maher cited National Review on his show the other day. That was surprising. What he basically says is that it’s worth pumping the brakes on giving kids puberty blockers and that kids are coming out as transgender at a rate that’s probably not natural. In other words, it’s trendy. I also said pretty much the same thing and we all see how this thread turned out. The usual suspects will just . More at the link. https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/bill-maher-trans-kids-are-cannon-fodder-in-the-culture-wars/
The National Review citing Bill Maher citing the National Review. Is that a circle jerk or just mutual masturbation?
People do realize this who gender nonsense has been brought to us by corporations using chemicals that interfer with the gender developement in the womb?
So your points are a republican chud comedy hack, and Bill Maher? Could you go back to Joe Rogan because he was a bit more reliable.
How does he know what’s natural? We didn’t know what the natural rates of left-handedness or homosexuality were until we stopped beating them out of people, literally and figuratively. Just because numbers are rising fast doesn’t mean they rise forever; most exponentials involving people turn out to be sigmoids.
He said something that supports what @Federal Farmer and the right wants to hear. That is all that is needed by the right. I could be a friggen parrot that FF taught to say what he liked and FF would use that parrot as evidence of the statement. It is Bill Maher. We know Bill Maher does research, and we also know it is confirmational research and he interprets things poorly. He made Religulous to look like a documentary when it clearly was not. It was a poorly interpreted hit piece that ignored everything other than what he wanted to say. Micheal Moore could take lessons from Bill. Bill does not do well with counter points as shown by Ben Aflek being able to own him on his own show. Ben is not the only one, but has softballs on his show. I like certain comedians and their political alignment, but I would confirm things said by stephen colbert or john stewart because they are comedians and they sometimes leave stuff out or exaggerate for science. A person actually trying to make a point would take what Bill said and try to find a reliable source for it. There are scientific and medical studies available on this stuff to cite. We do not have to rely on a comedian on an entertainment show. But FF does have to rely on that because there is no scientific evidence. It is actually worse, science shows this to be wrong. Talking to people shows it is wrong. Everyone is not going to become trans simply because it is permitted or even if it were encouraged. Does FF actually think if his teachers and parents encouraged him to wear and dress and say he is a girl, that he would? No, that would not happen. It would not happen with at least 95 percent of people. All those cisgender people would never follow that encouragement, and if you forced them they would freak the fuck out. The boy wants to pretend because Bill and the National review think there is evidence that we are heading for a day when there are no straight cisgendered people, that there is a possibility of that happening while no one wants this or would permit abusing people to be transgendered would ever be allowed by either side.
"It's trendy!" Yeah, kids are just falling over themselves to do something that will put them at risk of beatings from bigots and have them stripped of their rights and dignity by... well, more bigots. Because it's "the in thing". Get a fucking clue, FF. Or STFU, either's good.
I came of age in the 80s's which was the most homophobic/AIDS-phobic time on our disgusting history. You'd think if anything could have wiped out trans people if they weren't real, it would have been then. It didn't. Cruelty toward minorities is for its own sake, and nothing else. Nothing genuinely productive is accomplished.
