The other thing is who the fuck cares if it is trendy? I am not an expert on FtM transitions, but it seems the uterus still works after HRT. There is a chance a trans man can still have babies. If a MtF person is really worried about fathering a child in the future we can save the sperm.

Even the permanent effects do not necessarily have to be effects except in process. So who the fuck cares? Go ahead and explore. If you are not sure, you might want to slow down and wait, but you can take some preparations and things will be fine.

That may have been true twenty years ago or even ten, but it seems to me that society is becoming more tolerant towards transgender people. Even if that’s not true, kids do all kinds of things that aren’t logical and risk getting bullied.

So, remember, saying "gay" or "trans" in a classroom of kiddies, worst thing ever.
Hamburger-izing the same kids with bullets?

It is OK to do a post birth abortion as long as you do it with a gun, and you are in fear for your life, and the baby was black or speaking spanish. Oh, and if the baby had a penis and was in a dress then you have to kill it with a gun, of course, because he was threatening the nature of gender and man as created by god. Oh, and we do have to keep killing the black ones so they do not replace us even though when they exist we do not stop existing.

It really confuses me how many exceptions there are to this pro-life thing on the right. How does an invention that is is just for making killing easier something that a pro-life crowd loves? Guns never ever save lives directly. They always take lives. That is the purpose of a gun. The sole purpose of a gun is anti-life. Yes, you can attempt to use it for other things, but it's sole purpose is to take life more efficiently than you can without. It is not designed with any other purpose.

Yes, victimhood has become a fashion statement. Witness the popularity of people prefacing their opinions with an appeal to authority, like "As a member/survivor/better victim than you, I..."

It is absolutely a perforative pose to make themselves the center of attention and immune to criticism.

Video clips and memes with twitter quotes in them. Nothing I can conjure from a rolodex on command.
I can't imagine I am the only one noticing this shit. I'll be sure to post a link the next time I come across some person on the street interview after some incident, where they single out the biggest nasally-voiced hipster douchecannon who inevitably starts with that phrase to hang an "I'm extra special and you better listen to meee!" sign on everything he says.

Even in places where they won't be harassed for it, nobody is going to put themselves through the hassle of hormone therapy to be "trendy."

I have friends with teenage kids who are trans, and I have friends with teenage kids who are nonbinary. There's a big difference.

The trans kids are 100% sure they were born the wrong sex. Their bodies feel wrong, their deadnames feel wrong, wearing the clothing traditionally associated with their birth sex feels wrong. In a way, they are binary as fuck: the sex they were born with is 100% wrong, and the gender they feel in their hearts and minds is 100% right.

This is the experience @Nova has been describing for the past decade to anyone here who is willing to open their minds enough to listen. This is also the type of person who is likely to want hormone therapy.

One of my friends has two kids, both assigned female at birth. I've known them both since they were young teens, and they're in their 20s now. The oldest has always been confident, collected and comfortable. The youngest always exuded being uncomfortable in almost every situation. Turns out ... he's not a girl. Now he has a new name, a new look, and the change in him is palpable. Just a few months ago I was telling his mom how great it is to see the level of confidence he has now. For a straight-up trans kid, this is the night-and-day difference that results from being who they were meant to be ... and it also reflects the difference good parents can make, because she and her husband are 100% in their kid's corner, and not all trans kids are so lucky.

Then there are the nonbinary kids. They tend to use "they" pronouns, or in some cases it'll be "meh, call me he, she or they, I don't really give a shit." Some stick with their birth names, some choose a neutral-sounding name. You might see them in baggy pants one day and a skirt the next.

Because they're flexible and fluid, these are the people you would probably accuse of "going through a phase" or "doing it to be trendy" if you felt like being an asshole.

But they. Are. Not. Taking. Hormones.

They have no particular need to.

All this hysteria is coming from people who, frankly, don't know what the fuck they're talking about.

That would be true in a place like Alabama but probably less so somewhere like San Francisco

I remember in university it was trendy to be bisexual and you’d have girls making out with girls and today they are anything but bi. They were just doing it because it was the “in” thing to do at the time

Yeah, they are just fakin because no girl could have pleasure making out with another girl.

Or maybe you should stop lying to yourself and pretending it was themn faking when really it was probably them lying to you because you came off to them as a homophobic fuck and they did not want your toxic masculine ass thinking less of them for being bisexual.

Actually, I do not really believe you ever even asked them about their sexuality at all and probably just filled in the blanks with what agreed with your worldview like every other judgmental twerp does.

why do folks who have no first hand experience with a thing insist on "yeah but..." soliloquies every time someone who DOES tries to tell them about the thing?
