Welp, Pixar have become the Disney sellouts they swore they never would be. Press F for their creative integrity
I'm really getting tired of these dumbass "teasers" that studios put out with the just the film logo and some dramatic music. Disney is particularly egregious in this regard, with the MCU films.
Yes. If you look back at the reviews of the Cars sequel that was released after the merger, they all boiled down to, “WTF? This is shit! Disney’s forced Pixar to sell out!”
So it is the movie that inspired the toy? OK, I can go with that. It is an interesting way to market a possible franchise. It might be a fun space adventure. If it is then you have another reason to market the toy. I have to give the house of mouse credit on this idea. The execution remains to be seen, but the idea is fun and expands a beloved universe into new territory.
I always assumed it was a cartoon that Andy watched. It still doesn’t make sense that it wouldn’t be Tim Allen’s voice.
If you read the article, the Tim Allen version of Buzz was from the made-for-TV series based on the film that Andy watched.
Usually when a toy that talks is based off a character in a movie then they use the original actor’s voice. I know my Starfleet Communicator does. It just seems like they just didn’t want Tim Allen in the role and this is their lame excuse.
Well, Evans is a bigger box office draw than Allen these days, so there's that. If you check Allen's IMDB page, he's presently shooting a mini-series based on his Santa Clause movies, so Disney certainly has no problem working with him.
Yeah, I just take Evans casting as a meta thing, like Tom Cruise playing Austin Powers in "Austinpussy".
That explanation does not make any sense as the toy story story goes on for years. What actually makes sense is the psycho neighbor kid stole it from andy, and andy could never tell his parents, so he lied about still having it to them. Meanwhile this is causing a deep psychosis in andy which is why he never notices what his toys are doing because just looking at them reminds him of what a loser he is. This is why as soon as he can he starts trying to lose them or give them up.
